"Dad has been in Atria Tamalpais Creek for two months now. We chose it because of its location, and it is one of the best facilities I have seen. The staff is very friendly and seems to be very experienced. They care a lot about him. I like the ratio of staff to residents. They have a small number of people for every staff member. I have eaten there at every meal, and the food is excellent. The rooms that I see are individual. They have their own room, which is very clean, new, and very nice. They have activities in the memory unit, like lectures in the arts, they do tai chi, they go on field trips, and it's very nice. "

"There's one in Pinole that we visited and we really like this place. It's called Pinole Senior Village. The place is very clean and nice. The people there are very friendly. They have different types of rooms, but they didn’t have any available that would fit my income and my needs. I have Parkinson's disease and a chemical sensitivity, and it's been really hard to find the right place for myself. "

"I've been to the Belmont Village Albany. We were shown the independent living. Although I know where the assisted living was, we did not go into that area. The woman who gave us the tour was very good. I thought she covered all the bases. We sat down before the tour and she explained everything very well. In our situation where my cousin is very touchy about her dementia, she never referred to her, but she just talked about the care offered to seniors in such a way that normalized the whole situation of "your memory is not quite what it was." She didn't say it the way I say it, but she just made that all sound very normal and that was just part of life there. I thought they did an excellent job. The staff was always friendly. We were introduced to the librarian and some care assistants. They were sitting in a breakroom and everyone was quite friendly. I like that they had fresh flowers on the table. It was a very beautiful arrangement. I liked that kind of attention to detail and that kind of life. It's an apartment-like facility, but it had several verandas. It had an outdoor space for people who wanted to garden. There was an outdoor eating area off of the dining hall. They had a casual eating area. They had a small gym and also an exercise room where someone did classes. It was a beautiful facility."

"Sagebrook Senior Living is beautiful. I love it. It's just a bit too steep. They want $6,800 without the care, and that's kind of a bit too much for our income. The community is great. The view was fantastic. The accommodations were great. The staff was very nice and very helpful. The dining area was lovely. It had a piano and everything. It was really nice. I have nothing bad to say about it. We had lunch, and it was good. It looked like their families were there, so they were chatting and associating with their families, and then they went outside. It is old, and they're still doing construction."

"My experience with the care and facilities at Coterie has been excellent. My mother moved to the memory care floor at Coterie after a brief time in assisted living. My family had been struggling to find the right level of care for her. Coterie has been incredibly flexible and nurturing in their daily support for her. I am especially thankful for the staff’s efforts to keep my mother connected with our family, her friends, and the rest of the world outside of memory care."

"My mother is with Aldersly. They offer many activities for residents and provide services. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It's a totally different living environment than what I'm used to, but the room sizes were plenty for my mother. They have workout areas for the retirement community. Of course, they're very different from the workout gyms that people my age would use. Their dining facilities are very nice, and they have excellent cooks. I think it provides good service and good living facilities for the money, so we're satisfied. We have no complaints about the financial situation."

"I toured Buena Vista Manor House. I like that it's a privately held business, that David, the owner, is part of the hands-on, day-to-day operation of the Manor House, and that he made a very strong personal impression on me. It was originally the dormitories for the nursing staff that was learning their profession at the St. Joseph's Hospital there. They have done a very nice makeover of the rooms, and the building maintains its original dining areas and libraries. All those things built for the nurses were applicable to the residents."

"My visit to Vista Prado was very good. The facility was clean and it had friendly staff. I liked that the residents were active during the day. They had activities going through the day and they were in a big common area to do those activities. They had wide hallways. The thing that stood out to me was that they try to keep the residents active and not just sitting in their rooms. The rooms were of ample size and very clean. The facility was nice. It had an outdoor area and a deck area, which was very nice. They had physical activities and creative activities. They also had music and arts."

"The activities at Elders Inn are nice. My friend is in a very nice one-bedroom apartment with a private bath. The staff is very friendly, and the residents feel so at home there. A guy was playing the guitar and encouraging the residents to participate. They have an activity room. "

"I like it. It was very open. The area was open. My mother could go out and plant or bring animals that she wanted. It was just very open and airy. You could see the sun shining through at all angles of the buildings. I was impressed. That was my first choice. And they held a room for me from July to October, and I had not made a decision. That was my first choice and that is the place where I wanted my mom to be. They have the same things, but with them, I was just really impressed. Once I took the tour, I wanted my mom there. It was close to both houses for me because I have a house in Bayview and a house in the Ingleside. They showed me the recreation room where they could go in and do activities. Then they had another room where they could go in and sit with other patients or clients. They had a discussion room, I call it a discussion room, but it was just the activity room. It's in a great location. The way the building is built, it's airy and sunny. The court area was lovely."

"My husband is already here; they seem to be fine. They have a restaurant. My husband has people coming in from the outside to do physical therapy because they don't do physical therapy there. Their dining area is very nice, and it's a good looking place. They said their Wi-Fi was free, but then they told me that I had to find him his own Wi-Fi. One of the reasons I picked them was because they had their own Wifi, so I don't quite know what to say. The staff is getting better. They're charging you for extensive care, and I just want to make sure that they give it to him. The button that's around his neck didn't work at first. He'd be pushing it and nobody would come; he was wondering why. When I came in one day, we went to the front desk and found out it didn't work; they fixed it. The residents here seem pretty happy, so that's good. The environment there is very nice."

"We chose Peninsula Reflections. I liked the place. It was very nice. The room was big and a single for my partner. I felt warm when we went there and talked to the people. The staff seemed very nice and knowledgeable. They knew what they were doing, especially the one in the admin who was very friendly and made my partner feel good. The menu looked OK; however, my partner needed everything blended. They had a big room for activities with a big TV. They had karaoke and other singers who came by to sing. The residents seemed to enjoy that. They had a quiet room, which was a small room with a TV. They seemed very cooperative. When you asked something, they were willing to help you. They had a doctor who seemed very nice."

"Carlton Senior Living Pleasant Hill is very nice, very friendly, and comfortable. I have a positive feeling about the place. The staff is very friendly and very informative. They gave me a lot of information. I asked about something legal, and they gave me information about elderly law and which office to go to seek any help. They gave me lots of help beyond the assisted living community letting me know where I can access different information. They showed me around the area. It looked like a very vibrant community. I saw them interact with the people living there, which was very nice."
