My husband was a resident of English Oaks Convalescent & Rehabilitation Hospital. I thought that the physical therapy was excellent, and the occupational therapy was very good. What we didn't like was the food wasn't that great. Also, you had to wait a long time for someone to come in and help you if you needed help to go into the bathroom. I realize that it's not their fault because they have so many people to take care of, but it was kind of hard, especially for my husband. He couldn't get up out of bed, and when he forced himself to do it, he took a chance walking in there on the walker, and he did fall one time. He didn't hurt himself, except he scraped his knee in the bathroom. My opinion is, that they should give them fewer people to take care of. Everybody was very nice. Some days the foods were good, and other days, it was terrible. I guess you cannot please everybody, although we're not hard to please. We don't need a lot of Mexican food, so we don't particularly like that kind of food either. But I can't always blame them either, because sometimes when I was there, they called me and asked me what I want. My husband doesn't talk on the phone, he's really hard of hearing. So, I don't think anybody ever asked him. I did the advocating for him. I told the dietician things that he did like and things he didn't, and they sort of changed his menu a little bit, which helped. I thought it was very clean. I think they were very professional, and they made you wear a robe and a mask when you went in there. They were very careful. The food was warm. I think it was just kind of the variety of it. They give you a lot of food. It's just that some of the stuff just isn't very good. The insurance took care of everything, I have no idea what we paid. They had a patio, which was kind of nice. A couple of times we took him out on the patio so our two children could come and visit us because they had not had their shots. So, we were outside, and we were in masks, but they were able to visit, so I did appreciate that. He had his own TV, which I appreciated.

Thank God our family member is able to make a call! When we heard the voice message (I saved it) Her voice was distraught and she was very upset, I was so shaken, her son didn't know what too do! Shes been a resident over 20 days and has only been SHOWERED ONCE 1! Yesterday she had an aid she hadn't seen before. She asked for a shower. She DID NOT get one. Mom was very upset because her hair is matted and she said her armpits stink. I called and was put through to the Director of Nursing Services. She said a nursing aid had charted that she showered mom yesterday! I told her to go and see mom for herself. She said she was going too. But mom still hasn't had a shower. I called the supervisor back, but her voice message redirects urgent calls to the Assistant Director of nursing services were a message can be left.

My friend has been in there for a month so far. The first week and a half was great! After that it’s been a nightmare! They don’t make sure the patient eats, little to no physical therapy, they leave patients in soiled clothes or bedding for hours. Ignore when buzzed, dinally after a month and a half gave a toothbrush, leaves patients depressed and crying.

This place does not deserve any stars. Low on staff. Smells old and moldy. Dirty not Sanitize. Old gross carpets. Old mode on Ceilings. 2 to 4 people per room. 1 nurse per 15 patients. Noises and yelling throughout the whole night. This place looks n smells like a homeless shelter. No one deserves to live like that. So upset this place is still up and running.

My dad was in English Oaks Conv & Rehab Hospital. It was amazingly clean, and theyre very receptive to the people there. The staff was always willing to help and accommodate us. He had physical therapy.

My dad is staying in English Oaks. It's a nice place and very clean. For the most part, the staff there is very nice. They keep the dining area pretty nice, and some of the food looks good, but my dad doesn't like some of it. They're rehabilitating my dad so that he can start walking again. We're covered through Kaizer, so we're not paying for the cost. It's a nice place for people looking for something like it.

my cousin was there with a infection in his foot and because they did not notify a doctor that he had a new infection in his leg he might possibly lose his leg now. my friends mother was there also 5 years ago and a week after she came home from there she died of a stomach infection

My only complaint about English Oaks Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center was they sent my mother home without having physical therapy. She was there for eight weeks, and she was weak. There was nothing done for physical therapy because they did not really convince her well enough.

My wife was at English Oaks, and she was there for two weeks. It's a professional hospital where the nurses take care of the patients. They give them baths, and they give them medications. The rooms were very nice and very clean, and the food was OK. The nurses were well dressed and very cordial. Our relatives who are there right now have been there for years, and I am very satisfied with their care there. I was impressed with the nurses that took care of my wife and when she needed care, they were there right on the spot.

My uncle was at English Oaks Conv & Rehab Hospital for about two months. There was a rehabilitation part and a nursing home but we used the rehabilitation facility. He got physical therapy everyday because he had to learn the motor skills again. The physical therapist was an angel, he was the best part of the stay there. The doctor was also wonderful. The staff were sweet but I thought they were understaffed.

My mom recently stayed at English Oaks following surgery. She was very well cared for and recovered quickly. Her room was very pleasant and just outside the nurses' station. She was extremely happy with the meals - the food was well prepared, plentiful, and at the right temperature. She had a choice of what to eat at every meal. Every day she was helped to bathe and dress. She was encouraged to do as much as possible on her own, and she did do a little bit more each day. The family was kept well informed of what was going on with her. She received physical therapy and went to several activities. We would have been allowed to bring her cat to visit, but the cat refused!
