I'm at Westwood Plaza. I pay for just the base rent, plus, I rent a parking space. I've been here for almost two years now. My overall experience has been very good. They're very nice people. I've made a lot of nice friends and acquaintances over the time I've been here. Architecturally, the building is especially nice, more so than any of the other facilities I've seen. I just haven't seen any others with that same elegant English Renaissance design on the facade. The dining area is very nice, very nicely furnished, and very nicely appointed. There's a door that opens from it into a little courtyard where you can sit outside if you like. The food is consistent of good quality. They have lots of activities. At one point, I had even started a chess club myself. They have art classes and music classes. Sometimes, they have a lady come in and lead everyone in Taichi. They're about to start a stretching exercise class that one can do from one's chair. There are lots of nice things. Sometimes, they have movie nights. They had a nice little Super Bowl party this past Sunday. After I've shopped around and seen what else is out there, hands down, it's the best value for the money anywhere.

Additional Amenity Information
- Features: We have a library and an activity room; Patio with fishpond.
- Technology: Emergency Call System
- Special Comment: We are one of the few communities left on the west side of Los Angeles that is not corporately owned. Many of our staff have been part of our community for many years. Our Executive Director is always willing to spend time with the residents. He hosts our Current Events program each week, plus occasional Bingo! Decisions are made at the source, we are less rigid and overall more relaxed

Westwood Plaza was not clean. The staff was not attentive. There was a member of the community in the parking lot in a state of undress in a wheelchair, and nobody said anything or did anything. The receptionist did not speak clear English. The reception area was not good. The rooms were not good, and there was no good ventilation. It was very small, and the corridors were narrow and dark. The garden area didn't really exist. It had one garden table, two chairs, and an umbrella, and it was in the center of the building. It was so unfriendly.

My mom is in Westwood Plaza. It’s basic, adequate, and homey. The staff is excellent. The activities are very good. The rooms are fine-- not fancy-- but the prices are reasonable.
