St. John of God Retirement & Care Center is a good community. The staff works with the residents and with their families. They're very friendly, and sweet, and they keep me updated on different things about my mother. They have activity rooms and the room she is in is nice. They come in and clean it every day. They do a good job of keeping up the maintenance and everything. I've also tasted the food and it was good. They're definitely watching over the residents, making sure they're OK. So, they're on their job doing what they need to do and I'm satisfied so far. It's a good value for the money.

St. John of God Retirement & Care Center is a good community. The staff works with the residents and with their families. I like St. John of God Retirement & Care Center a lot. I liked the atmosphere, it looked clean, and open, and it had a big lawn where my mom could walk around. The grounds were lovely. The staff was lovely. She can have a little apartment there. Everything about it was wonderful. It's gated, and there's a guard at the gate. The facility was great. I also like that you have all the different areas of care on the campus. You have assisted living, a hospital, a chapel, and the memory care section on the other side.

The staff at St. John of God Residence & Care Center was friendly. The place seemed very nice and clean, but they said they couldn't accommodate us because it wasn't a good fit. The residents that we saw there looked content.

St. John of God Retirement & Care Center has been fine and good. I had no problems. What stood out are the staff and the environment. They're friendly and very attentive, and the rooms are good. They have a 1-bedroom place, and it's a nice size.

St. John is OK; you get 3 meals a day and housing, and the food is average. Every Friday, there’s a bus that went to the stores and a bank. In the afternoon, they took you to various department stores, and once or twice a month, you get expeditions to the gardens or the beach.

I like the staff at St. John of God Retirement & Care Center. The entire facility is very well cared for, and very peaceful. The staff has been extremely helpful. The place is very clean, very private, and very pleasant. As for the doctors’ appointments, they provide the transportation three days a week. They serve three meals a day plus snacks. I’ve tried their food, and it was very good; a lot of choices, too.

The one I liked the most was St. John of God. It was a nun that was showing us around. The people who live there were all very smiling and upbeat. It was so clean, and the grounds were great. It was the only one that had a big indoor swimming pool, and they have classes and physical therapists. For those who are totally incapable of caring for themselves, they had someone come in the morning, help you to get up, and help you to bathe. They had certain rules and they would do everything for you if you were totally disabled. It’s pretty expensive; it was out of my range of monetary means so I couldn’t go there. Nothing that I saw measured up to St John of God. They had everything.

I didn't have any major issues with this facility. Things seemed to be maintained well. It was an old building but nothing seemed to be out of order or dirty. There is a gated parking lot which is convenient. Things seem pretty safe and secure there, and the other residents seemed to be calm and enjoying themselves. My grandmother sometimes complained about being neglected, but she is the type to complain excessively so I can't say for sure it was a legitimate problem. It did get pretty hot and stuffy in the room. The cafeteria food was decent quality. It was in a relatively quiet neighborhood near Korea town, with stores nearby. The workers there seemed nice, although I didn't interact with them too much. My overall impression was not amazing, but it was good overall and would recommend this facility to others if they are looking for a place that is safe and decent.

St. John of God Care Center is an extremely nice facility. It is also in a very nice area of LA, near Wilshire Boulevard and Koreatown. When my client was in this facility, I rented a room on St. Andrews Place, very close to the facility. The neighborhood was not noisy and it had shopping nearby, and the metro was within walking distance. The building itself was also very neat-looking. Although it looked like an older building, it seemed to be well-kept and very clean on the inside. The food also smelled great coming from the cafeteria - and my client said that it always tasted great. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone in the LA area.
