"My great aunt resides at Marycrest Manor. She moved there in around June of 2009. Every time I come to visit, she has a smile on her face. My aunt is suffering from Alzheimer and she is very pleased with how patient and kind the nursing home staff is to her. I think that the Marycrest Manor is one of the best in Los Angeles County. The only critique I would give them is, how quickly they respond to patients. Sometimes my aunt would have to buzz for a nurse and wait 10 minutes. With people in a fragile state this could be dangerous. Other than that, I would highly recommend them to other's looking to rest in a nursing home. The nurses are very friendly, and they are always on top of their patient's needs and they are very warm and understanding. I think if the day comes that I need to be in a nursing home, I would choose Marycrest Manor. "

"My son is 40 years old and he needs care so we went looking for a facility for him. We heard about Didi Hirsch from our daughter, who is a social worker. So we got the place for him and he shares a room with someone. The facility is clean. The staff there were helpful to us specially if we have some concerns that we talk to them about. My son is due to finish his rehab coming October of this year. "

"As a nursing student I spent 8 weeks of a rotation at Vista Del Sol, helping care for residents and learn new skills. While there I noted that the staff were kind, and that the residents seemed rested and content in their new home. Physical and behavioral therapists came each day to work with the residents, and volunteers regularly visited to do crafts, provide musical diversions and play games witht he residents. More assistive personnel (CNA's) maybe beneficial, but otherwise a great facility. "

"My wife is in Country Villa Mar Vista, and it’s very similar to a hospital in ambiance. The staff and the services are terrific. They have bingo, play some games, and do crossword puzzles. The food is fine, adequate, good, and tasty. It’s not gourmet. "

"Windsor Care Center of Cheviot Hills was a great facility. My friend stayed there. The only thing that was missing was enough physical therapy. It was always clean, bright, and pleasant. She was in a shared room with two people. They had activities and she seemed to enjoy them. She was able to do that with her Social Security."

"Country Villa was very clean and smelled fresh. The staff was very pleasant, very friendly and very forthcoming about what was going on. They allowed me to walk through the facility. I visited it three times and every time I visited, I found everything to be exactly the same. I really thought the OT department was very well staffed and they had good equipment there. I spoke with the administrators and nine workers. I looked on the rooms of any patients they had that were willing and found everything to be the same. The only thing that they didn't have that I really wished they had was wanderer's safety precautions. They didn't have a protocol for that. They would allow you to have a sitter but they didn't actually have a door where if somebody opens it, it buzzes or like a bracelet that would go off or would set an alarm to the staff that this person is trying to leave this facility. Other than that, it definitely is a facility that I would be completely and totally interested in. "

"Culver West Health Center is not that great. It's old and a bit cramped. It feels less uplifting. It's sad in a way because I think at the time when I visited, they were short-staffed even though they said that their nurse ratio was good, but I didn't see that. I see a lot of elderly people not doing much. There is no activity going on. The staff is less enthusiastic and they're just there to do the work. Even the administration doesn't feel too friendly. It's just like they're trying to get over with."

"I ONCE VISITED A FRIEND AT THIS FACILITY PRE-PANDEMIC. THE BUILDING LOOKS MUCH BETTER OUTSIDE. SEEMS WELCOMING, AND BREEZY WHEN I VISITED. THE STAFF WHO GREETED ME WAS VERY PLEASANT AND ACCOMMODATING. SHE SAID IF I EVER NEED ANYTHING,TO STOP BY AT HER OFFICE. MY VISIT WAS PLEASANT. MY FRIEND LIKED IT THERE. BUT UNFORTUNATELY HAD PASSED AWAY SHORTLY AFTER. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR NURSING HOME FOR YOURSELF OR A LOVE ONE. THEY HAVE IN-HOUSE REHAB SERVICES AND A 24-HR NURSING SERVICES. "

"The facility was kind and helpful to my family and my father staying there. They were available to answer any questions we had. The staff was really nice and they kept the place clean. My dad loved the food- bonus!"

"I found the staff at Hillcrest to be very attentive with the people there. They kept them clean, out of bed, and when you go in there, you don't smell any urine smell in patients that were unattended. Overall, it was okay. Like most facilities, I would say that they basically need to improve on the training of their staff, CNA's or the caregivers, and be more attentive to the elderly "

"My father moved into Country Villa Terrace Assisted Living. I've only been there a few times and there were some things I wasn't pleased with. I had to tell them that and we had to split some things around for me to tell them what my dad needed. So tomorrow I'm going to go check out what the changes have been and see if he's comfortable. The rooms are okay. They're not immaculate. I didn't like the bed, that's why I'm having him transferred to a hospital bed. He's in assisted living, but now I would switch to palliative care. The staff isn't as attentive as I thought they would be. I felt that my father needed a bit more hands-on care. The food looked good."

"I am a relative of a resident at Longwood Manor, Los Angeles CA.For the past 3 years I've observed the living condition and the staff who have provided care to my relative. The facility is very clean and the rooms are kept in good condition. The bedding is changed on a daily basis and my relative is always in the clothing I've provided which is fresh and clean. I've observed the meals which appear wholesome and the quantity is just enough. My relative states the meals are tasty and fulfilling and he will occasionally ask me for a home cooked meal, The doctor on staff is available to answer questions and the nurses and Social Services is always ready to assist in whatever concern I have in regards to medical and billing services. Overall the nursing home is well kept and my relative is pleased and has no complaint with their services. "
