I found Namuag Guest Home for dad last year, and he made it through till June. It was a wonderful experience all the way around. I was very nervous about finding him the right place that we could afford, and it all had to be done very quickly. It was a regular home in a residential area. They only had three other guests at the time and it just went perfect. My dad had dementia and Alzheimer's, so he was very confused, but he was the happiest I had seen him. I was very glad that he was able to be there during his last months, because the owners were very nice to him, and the caretaker and his personal caretaker were very kind and gave excellent care. There is a woman who’s still there, and I go to visit her. She befriended dad, so he was able to feel like he was in a home rather than a hospital. There were no other family members who could have helped, and I was working full time throughout the year, so it was a God-send. I couldn’t say enough about them; they were just excellent. I still go back and visit them, because they are such wonderful people. They deserve every bit of praise that they get. They also made sure that the hospice people came there at the end and that all went very smoothly. A young girl representing the hospice came out and told me what to expect and what would happen -- that they would bring him home from the hospital and that they would be there all the time. I could contact them at any time. I went there as often as I could, and everyone did a wonderful job. He didn’t last too many days after hospice arrived. The hospice people were wonderful as well, so definitely, I would recommend them highly.
