My mom is at Castro Village Care Home at the moment. It's a good place for her. The difficulty for her is that she is still adjusting and her not being able to walk. She just stopped walking in May of 2020, so we moved her to a board and care in September. It hasn't been even a year yet before she went from a 1-bedroom independent living apartment to a 1-room unit in a home. The people there are very loving and caring, and they really give her the attention that she needs. They take care of all her meds and everything, so that's really been good for her. She's still struggling, and she cannot accept yet that this is where her last stop is, but it may not be. With COVID, we have to just see if she can still get some of her walking back with the walker and then we'll see whether or not she can move from there. The building itself is an old house and each room has its own porta potty, but there's only one bathroom in a narrow hallway. The hallway will only accommodate wheelchairs going in one direction. If somebody had to enter into the hall and want to come down, you have to wait. I just think that the house itself, the structure, needs to be bigger. It needs to be rebuilt better. Other than that, it's fine. It's a really good place. They do everything really well, and the people are very nice and professional. I just would like to see a place that's a little bit more accommodating to fit five people. They have six women residents, which is great, and they're all different nationalities, which is also great. It's the first group of six women residents. The structure itself, like the bathroom's narrow hallway, is the problem. I think the food is good, nutritious and delicious. The price is competitive with the market.
