Assisted Living Communities in Roy, UT

"The Lodge at North Ogden is very new. The room that my in-laws have is large, so that helps our decision. It's a two-bedroom. The beds sit nicely. There are two single beds. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. We have tried the food three times, and the food is very good. There are ample amounts for the seniors. The dining area is spacious and beautifully arranged. They've also got a pool table, a shuffleboard table, a theater, and extra dining rooms for friends and family to borrow. They have a salon on site and there are three pianos, which I like because my mother-in-law plays the piano. Everything seems to be in working order and good condition. The place is very clean. It's a good value. We chose them because of the value of the room and the size of the room, which is over 1200 square feet for a two-bedroom. As for activities, my in-laws have already participated in bingo. Activities seem to be good."

"The care provided by Quail Meadows has been exceptional! The entire team provides loving and corellated care so every need is met! The staff is friendly, warm, and goes above and beyond to make sure their residents are safe, feel heard, and are loved! Drew the administrator has been extremely supportive and has been there every step of the way! I cannot say enough good about this place!!"

"My mom moved into Legacy Assisted Living a few months ago, and honestly we were all very nervous about how she would adjust. I'm happy to report that mom repeatedly states she is "much happier" at Legacy than she was alone at home! Wonderful surprise! The staff have all been incredibly helpful. For example, the aides who come to her room frequently to remind her of events, meds, etc, have been so patient with mom and helpful. One Legacy team especially stands out - Activities. For instance, my mom really misses her piano, and it obviously won't fit in her new apartment. I've expressed that concern to Activities team members , who expressed genuine concern and hope that perhaps something can be done to help mom, and many others, who miss their pianos. Although there is a grand piano on the Belmont Room, the residents rooms are often far away from that location. Also, they don't always want to feel they are being watched or performing a recital. I know mom's skills have greatly diminished and she needs some sort of privacy in order to "venture out". The Activities team is actively considering how to supply this need. I cannot tell you how happy that has made my mom just knowing it just might be a possibility! They are also trying to set up quilting frames for the use of it's many residents who like to work with others in making/tying quilts of all sorts. They feel useful and do indeed "give back" to others with their kind quilted gifts. Mom has donated quite a bit of fabric to Legacy for quilt making. Thanks to Legacy for continued support and efforts to improve the experience for their residents."

"I toured Creekside Senior Living. I like that it was spacious, clean, feels secure and I like the food that was served. I've looked at both their senior living and assisted living, and I thought it was an excellent facility. They have a gym, an outside patio, and a small golf course."

"I visited The Legacy House. One of the girls working there showed me a rooms and the dining rooms. She walked me around the place and told me a little bit about it. They had a bulletin board with the activities. I really liked the place. "

"I toured the Gables of Brigham City and the woman who met me was very caring. She was very kind and she asked a lot of questions about my needs. The facility was clean, roomy, and I felt very comfortable with my visit."

"I visited Capital Hill Senior Living. It was a very, very nice facility but the price is just too much. I was very impressed. When I walked right in, there was a fireplace, and you could see into the dining area. There were people siting, visiting, and playing games. The receptionist was very pleasant. They took me to one of the rooms; it was a nice room. It had a nice size bathroom, and a nice size closet. It was not a walk-in closet, but it had a nice size. There is a good size area for bed, dresser, and stuff. It has a nice window. It is a very well-lit room. From what I saw of the place, it was very nice. They had a big space with a TV, and chairs for people to sit and watch TV or just to relax. The dining area was nice. The location is right at downtown Salt Lake City. It was easy to get to, and is a very nice area uptown. I had two women that showed me around, and they were both very nice, informative, and understanding of my concerns. Even though I did not want to put my mother there now, it is open for the future when things become different, and we need to change her facility."

"My dad will be moving in at Sunridge Assisted Living of Roy in December. We thought that the people that run it were very professional and very, very nice. We thought the facility was very clean. And we just really liked the services that they offered. We saw that they had extracurricular things. They bring music in and they have games for the residents. They have crafts and other extracurricular things for them to do. We liked the rooms. We picked a studio for our dad first because they didn't have any 1-bedrooms available. But he's on the list and as soon as they have a one-bedroom available, we'll move him to a 1-bedroom."

"My grandma lived on her own, without kids, and without her husband for 12 years. She was getting older and while still very able bodied she did have trouble getting around her house on her own. Deciding to move into Country Pines was the best decision she ever made. When the family first arrived to help her the staff was very friendly and inviting, her room was actually more like a small apartment. She had a bedroom, living room with attached kitchen, and her own bathroom. She was very nervous about the move but with the helpful staff and the wonderful residents she fit right in and loved it. She could have meals brought to her, or eaten in the cafeteria with the other residents. If she wanted to cook her own food she was welcome to do that also. Years later she did end up getting sicker and had to be moved inside the facility for more direct care. She said that her years at the retirement center were some of the best of her life. When she did pass away we were elated with how understanding and kind the staff were. She wasn't just another patient to them, they treated her like their own family and we will be forever thankful to them. "

"Stoney Brooke of Eden was above average. The rooms were large. It's pretty much a standard assisted living facility with no frills. It's below average in terms of activities. This was a very basic assisted living home where the ratio of caregivers to residents was fairly high, so a lot of hands-on supervision and a lot of care is given. They're not categorized as a nursing home, but they function a lot like a nursing home. They have a common dining area that accommodates all the residents at the same time, but nothing fancy. It gets the job done and if the person can't make it to the dining area for whatever reason, they're served food in their rooms."

"My father seems to be happy at the Family Tree Assisted Living of West Point. The staff is attentive, and his room is clean. I know they do things in the morning and early afternoon for them. They seem to have good activities. He likes breakfast. He hasn't liked some of the lunches and dinners as much. They have kind of a central common area where they gather to eat and I know that's where they do their little activities."

"Mom is at BeeHive Homes of Syracuse, Utah. I like that they have fewer residents so there's more staff per resident. Nobody's in a shared room (unless they're married). I haven't had any problems with the staff. They are very informative and they know what's going on. Mom participates in whatever they do in the daytime. They do activities like taking them for rides out to places and do things with them. They have open spaces, a library-type activity room, and a backyard that they can go into that's fenced."

"This is a nice facility. The area itself is a little questionable, but I've never heard of anything happening at this facility so I'm sure it's all right. When I visited, the staff seemed a little rushed, maybe a little stressed. But that did not stop at least one of them from helping a gentleman down the hall when he needed help, or for greeting a family of guests with smiles and questions when they came to visit their father and grandfather. These things, more than facility beauty and location make facilities wonderful and the residents feel loved. "

"I was impressed by the staff there. They welcomed me when I came to visit. The residents like it there. The food was very good. The activity was in their own theater room! My friend loves the cna's. Beautiful building. "
