"Elmhurst- The House-Friendship is a very beautiful place. It was built in the 1800s with additions. It has a a very beautiful, Victorian feel, but the dining room is beyond beautiful. They have a holiday open house, and they had a school choir come in and sing. They do a lot of outings, like shopping outings and movie outings. They serve three meals a day, which is included in the bill."

"Mound View Health Care in Moundsville provided us with a comfortable, affordable, and homely environment for our aunt. The staff was constantly looking for ways to make her not just live there, but enjoy herself while she did. On several occasions our large family would crowd into her room only to listen to her rant and rave about the people she was interacting with, from the staff to fellow residents. Our family would be lost without Mound view Health Care and their professional manner. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place to move a loved one that can provide a friendly, homely experience. The only negative side of our experience was trying to get into the facility initially because of the great demand that they experience. Spots fill up quick because people need a place that they know they'll be cared for and that's what you get at Mound View Health Care. "

"On behalf of the Hughes family, I would like to thank the staff at Gables for the care given to my mother. After a short hospital stay, we decided on Gables as the skilled facility to get the care she needed and the therapy to regain her strength, endurance, and mobility to get her back home. Although a few health issues arose, she fought thru them and was able to continue with her therapies. I cannot thank Erica M., Danielle W, and Amy P. enough for never giving up on my mom and seeing that she received the best therapies! Also, her special aide Ava, who saw her thru some tough evenings. The kindness and compassion the staff at Gables had shown my mom was wonderful. She is now home and much stronger than before her hospital stay! The facility itself was very nice. We enjoyed the ice cream parlor and hearing a few residents play the piano."

"We moved my in-law to Brightwood Center- West Virgina because it's close, and we figured that they have good rating, and friends and family can go see her. The staff have all been nice and answered all my questions. I call anytime, and gets an update on her. They are very professional. She is very happy where she's at. The community is very nice and clean. They have an activity place where everybody could go, and they have bingo. She may not be participating a lot because of the dementia and the Alzheimer's that she has but at least she is participating at something, and at least her mind is moving. She has not been there that long but we are really pleased with everything that we have seen."

"My aunt moved into Carriage House Assisted Living. It's nice, it's old, but it's clean. She's been getting excellent care. I just came back from there. She's 125 miles away from me, and I just got home today from seeing her. So I only see her once or twice a month. It's clean. There's no smell. The nurses and the staff are very nice. We've had no problems in the three or four months that she's been there, and they call me if they need anything. I think there are only 16 rooms and only eight or nine people in at this time. So, she gets pretty good individual care too. They have places set up for puzzles, and they send out a sheet for activities. They started, and this is every two weeks, the staff picks a restaurant, and they take their order, and they go out, go to the restaurant and bring in food for them. My aunt complains about the food, but I was there when she ate, and she had a ham and cheese sandwich, fruit and vegetables, and a sherbet. She always complains about the food no matter where she's at."

"We chose Golden Oaks Follansbee for my mother-in-law. They're taking very good care of her. The staff, the lady that owns the place, and everything have been great. Because of COVID, they are keeping her in her room a lot. She hasn't been there a month yet. I would recommend it because of the care. They're very, very caring, and they keep you informed of everything that's happening. It's a good place. I have not been inside because of COVID, but the outdoor space is good."

"I toured Assisted Living Richmond. The building is clean. Maybe it's just the first meeting, but I didn't feel the friendliness, it's like a distance. They are more sophisticated, and I particularly did not like the atmosphere. It's not somewhere that I would want to move to. They're not very friendly. The room is a little bigger than the one that I have. The dining area is a nice size, and it's clean."

"My father is moving into the Wyngate Senior Living Community. Very accessible. The Wyngate is nice, because it is a secure facility. It's not a memory care facility, but it is secure, and they can handle patients with dementia and fit them with wander guards if they need to. It's a very nice facility with studios and one-bedrooms. And it's next to the Weirton medical center, so it's right next to the hospital. It's a very new facility. It's only a few years old, with very competitive pricing. The staff is great. I was given the tour by a woman named Heather. She was very nice and helpful, able to answer all of my questions, and has been helpful in working with me to get him moved. They sent me home with a frozen meal based on what they might serve normally at dinner. I think it baked ziti and garlic bread, side salads, and dessert, and it was very good. The building was very clean. They keep all of the common areas very clean. The room that I saw was occupied, but it was very clean."

"If you are looking for a place that feels like home and you are treated like family, this is it! It's very clean and the residents are well cared for, respected and loved. The owner runs a tight ship and it shows. Each residents get personal care and treated very well. I have been fortunate enough to spend a few nights in the facility and was impressed on how well it managed by both the owner and staff. My mother has lived there well over two years and she is very satisfied. If I had to pick a place for myself, this is it!!"
