"The Manor House’s apartment is beautiful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My mother said the food is very good. There’s all kinds of activities, like visitors who play music, bingo, arts and crafts, and outings, and special parties, like one for Mardi Gras. This place is great. "

"When visiting The Cloisters, I noticed that the facility had both positive and negative attributes. For instance, I received mixed signals from the staff as far as being helpful and friendly. Some of the staff members are very eager to help and are sociable, whereas other staff members are less amicable. To be honest, I attribute this to the various duties for which each employee is responsible - such as front desk duties and/or liaison responsibilities versus more task-oriented duties like in the kitchen or group supervision. The Cloisters offers great amenities such as group activities both in house, as well as activities within the community. One such example is a "field trip" to the county fair in August, or attending other local events. I find these trips and activities to be a great advantage to this facility because it allows for the residents to still participate in activities that were once familiar to them, prior to being in the facility. These trips also afford residents the opportunity to enjoy experiences outside of the facility, allowing for interaction with other individuals. The continual interaction with the community is helpful when keeping the residents interested and interactive with their surroundings. The Cloisters is located in Warsaw, New York, which is situated between Rochester and Buffalo. Warsaw is approximately an hour away (driving)from each city, which creates a more relaxed atmosphere for those residents who do not wish to be directly in the city, but allows for availability for any services needed that cannot be treated by the local hospital and/or amenities. The local community is also enriched with many community gathering places such as public parks, family restaurants, and churches. I'm not aware of all the details about the facilities provided, but I do know that each resident is provided a room, and may share restroom/bathroom facilities. There are several employees as well assistants and volunteers on hand to aid the residents, as well. The residents are free to have family and friends escort them and transport them to various appointments, personal outings, etc, which offers some freedom and mobility. Overall, there is always room for improvement, but The Cloisters is a great addition to Wyoming County and the surrounding communities. "

"They only take six people so it's really tough to get into Agape Manor. It's hands-on and family orientated. The staff is so dedicated and gives unbelievable care. The room is very nice and she has a bathroom in it. The food is very good and my mom is very, very happy. They can do whatever they want. They do a lot like puzzle-making. It's a very religious place too, so they have a deacon come in and they say prayers. Anything that she wants to do they'll help her with it."

"My grandmother has been living in the assisted living portion of Genesee County Nursing Home since the Fall of 2009. Thus far her experience as well as my own experience with the facility has been positive. My grandmother shares a room with another woman who she has become friends with. She is able to come and go as she pleases as long as she signs out at the Nursing station and there is someone with her to make sure she takes her medication when she takes her medication. On site the facility offers a TV room, a library, a dining room for restaurant style dining, a beauty shop, and a gift shop. Residents have activities such as BINGO available to them on a regular basis. So far the staff at Genesee County Nursing Home have taken good care of my grandmother. She has a bit of freedom while her family has peace of mind. "

"I have not yet had the opportunity to visit this facility. My mother in law lives and we live several hundred miles away. We will be out there at Thanksgiving. The rest of the family that lives nearby rave about the facility. The food is good, the staff is friendly and there are a lot of structured activities for my mother in law to participate in. She has the freedom to go down to the cafeteria and get her Diet Coke whenever she wants to. She suffers from Alzheimers and doesn't quite understand that the facility is now her home. She still thinks that she will be going home soon, but all things considered, she is happy there. She has made many friends and they go on scheduled field trips. They have a memory care unit, where she is, and the traditional assisted facility units. I think it has been the perfect choice for her and I hope she continues to be happy there. "

"I am looking for a Medicaid facility for my mother. Le Roy Manor has been recommended to me by friends who have had their own mothers there. This has been very hard and I have to say most facilities are not very clean and nice. I visited Le Roy Manor last week and found the staff to be extremely helpful. They helped to reduce my anxiety and were very helpful with all of the paper trail that I have to put in place. I did not find the facility unclean. I personally witnessed a gentleman (service industry) clean the floor like you've never seen. My interactions with the staff were very positive. They offered to request medical records, finish the medicaid application process and screen my mom within a week. The office staff had such wonderful attitudes. The facility offers activities for the dementia patients and offered to help with the transition that my mother will go through as she moves."
