My sister and I visited the memory care part of Genesee Senior Living in Batavia for my spouse. We like it because they have assisted living and memory care, and then the skilled nursing home part. There are all different floors. It didn't smell, and everything was just nice. There were locks on the doors, and the price wasn't bad, either. The person who gave the tour took us through the memory care part, and introduced us to some of the residents, and showed us the rooms, which were very nice. She showed us the bathrooms and the showers, too, which the residents get two times a week, or as needed. I believe that when the weather is good, there are three places that they can go outdoors that are all secure. Every door is secure, and nobody can get on the elevators without a code. The meals are also all provided. The person who took me on the tour was very nice and very good. She also said they were getting some new security features this month. The facility was all clean, and I saw maintenance people walking around for something that needed to be done. I was really impressed with it.

My father has moved into Genesee Senior Living. We chose it because it is 10 minutes from my house. He's in their memory care unit, but they have regular assisted living, too. I like everything about it. I don't have any issues. The staff is very helpful, knowledgeable, and very caring. He's in a nice room, it's kept clean, and he has everything he needs. The atmosphere is very happy and positive. They celebrate all the holidays and they have lots of activities. I sat with him for dinner. I haven't eaten it myself, but he seems to enjoy it a lot and he raves about the food there all the time. They had them do floor bowling. They go for walks. They have arts and crafts. They have just different projects. They do baking. It's pretty modern. It's very clean. Value for money is excellent. They're very reasonable. They even said that if we come into any money problems, they're going to be willing to work with us.
