"My mother currently stays here and she really enjoys it. They have church groups that come weekly to provide services that she would otherwise not participate in by herself. Overall very well run facility and the help the staff provides is outstanding. I couldn't do it myself, and am very fortunate to have somewhere close to my home for my mother. "

"I toured Good Samaritan Society - Woodland. They have more rooms and more home setting. There was a refrigerator and a stove, and it had vinyl plank flooring. It was much more appealing. It was very clean and excellent. The staff was very good and very helpful. They have good activities for veterans. My father is a veteran. They have a group that gets together for veterans. I like the music selections and the fact that there are religious services. The clientele just seemed a lot more in line with my father and his capabilities. It was all on one level."

"We toured Country Manor Campus. The people were very cordial about taking us around and showing us the place. We had a lovely time there. Their restaurant is a public restaurant, so it is different. The public eats there as well. We were in the part that was independent living, and they had some nice big units, which we were interested in. It's a lovely place, and the people are coming and going. They have a shop there where you can buy just about anything you want. There are different sections that are spread out, which is kind of nice. Walking outside would be pleasant; you're not walking around in traffic. It's more like out in the country. There are other stuff around, but it's not as congested. We like that part of it, too. The place is clean, neat, and maintained. When you converse with people who live there, you get a feeling that they're happy and content."

"I was very impressed with this facility. My great aunt was a very independent woman and she really enjoyed her space. She loved her apartment, and she said the nurses did not intrude on her personal space. The facility was clean and well kept. There was a grassy area with plants and it was in great condition, very pleasant to look at. All the employees were kind and cheerful. Even the food was of very high quality, the young children who visited with us said it was delicious, and they are very hard to please. This is a great community and my great aunt was upset to be moved from the facility to the hospital, and passed away soon after. "

"The main thing that struck me was that Cherrywood Advanced Living seems to have a very open area for people to sit and chat and help somebody make dinner, or make a meal for themselves if they want. The kitchen, living, and social area are kind of all-in-one. People eat in a family environment where there's a long table, and people just sit down and eat. If you want to eat later in the morning, you sure can. There are in-houses or community areas, so that there are 12 people per house. It's just very comfortable-looking between the fireplace, and the carpet, and the chairs. The rooms are just one big space, but they're large, so I think that would be appealing to some people. It's in a neighborhood, so that is nice. They seemed very caring when they talked about things that people would like, and that they try to respond to. The staff was new, and one of them said that one of her goals on being hired was to add more social activities for people. I was really very impressed with it. We were considering that place, but the distance was too far. You can have your hair done there. People come in regularly to cut hair, and for shaving. There's a little party room, and if somebody is having a family gathering, they can use that space. There is a sauna whirlpool room, and that is quite popular. "

"My wife is at Good Shepherd Community-Sauk Rapids and it has been a very good experience. People are very friendly and very caring. They visit with you like one of their own. They want to help you as much as they can. It's a very nice place and it's very clean. It's freshly painted. It has nice carpet on the floor. It's well-kept and really in good shape."

"My sister is in assisted living at Edgewood Baxter. They have memory care, too. It's very friendly. It's like a family community with very good food and very caring people. They have transportation to Wal-Mart, they can order food from Cub and have it delivered, and they take them to their doctor appointments. They said that there was a van that would take them to other things like the bank, but now they're saying they don't do that. That was the only thing that we were kind of disappointed in because they told us they did and they don't, but they provide everything. It's a great place to be. She's very happy there. They have a lot going on every day. They have people come in and play music. On Fridays, they sometimes take them to different places. My sister's very fussy and she loves their food. They have a nice dining room. It's very big and very nice, and it overlooks a wooded area. The facility is very clean."

"Chateau Waters was very nice. It's clean, homey, and nicely decorated. Everybody seems very friendly. The person who accommodated me was very nice. She showed us all around and answered our questions. The apartments were very nice also. The food looked good and the menu sounded good. I think it's a little more expensive than some of the others I looked at for meals and rent, but it's very nice. They have a lot of things available. They have a bus where they take you shopping or to the grocery store in groups. They offer crafts and card playing. They would take you once in a while to a play or a movie theater, too, although they have their own movie theater on the premises."

"We toured the Northern Lakes. I was impressed with the facility. The grounds and the facility itself were probably the nicest than any facilities we had looked at. We dealt with one person primarily because we were on a tour, and she was very good. She explained everything in plenty of detail and was very friendly. And the building was very clean and up-to-date. The receptionist was very friendly, and the entry area looked very nice."

"My Grandmother had slow progressing dementia for nearly the last decade of her life, and though she retained her personality and desire for independence she needed assistance with daily tasks and her medical needs were too complicated for her. She settled in here very well, the staff were kind and polite and respected her independence while still providing her top quality care. The quality of the nursing care available here was impressive, compared to other facilities I had visited this one was the most professional. I'm really impressed with the improvements they've been making recently. I really appreciated everyone who worked there. Almond house was also not as expensive as some of the other options I looked into, and it was in a very nice area, my Grandmama was really very happy here. She had been depressed before she moved to this facility, but her mood greatly improved with the care and interaction she received here. "

"I wasn't impressed with Wildwood Assisted Living. For one thing, when we walked in there, it smelled like pee. I didn't see an elevator. So, how did these people in wheelchairs get from the first floor to the second floor? The rooms were small. The staff who assisted us during the tour was nice."
