"My aunt was at Mid Coast Senior Health. It's a very well-kept facility, the staff was very nice and helpful. My aunt seemed quite content, she was receiving very good care. It's a very nice facility. The staff members are very, very good. They have a bunch of activities and they do something every day. In terms of value for the money, we're very pleased with it. There was one person at the time wearing a mask and asking you if you're vaccinated. They vaccinated everybody there. You had to meet with the person in their room, you couldn't go to a congregate area or anything to visit. So, they're very careful about the COVID."

"The caregivers at Dionne Commons take excellent care of the residents that live there and tries there best to make it feel like home for them and their families. Good job Dionne Commons! "

"Coastal Landing was a wonderful community. They had senior apartments, which were very nice. Everything was fresh and had new paint. The whole facility was lovely. The staff during the tour was wonderful, answered all our questions, and very pleasant. I saw her interact with other residents there, always in a pleasant way. Then the residents reacted to her in a friendly way. I could tell that she had contact with them. The dining area was like a high-class restaurant. It looked like a ballroom with tables with tablecloths. It was very nice, and the menu was exquisite. They had a gymnasium, a spa, a movie theater, a big room set up where they can play cards, and another room where they can do arts and crafts. There had very nice grounds where they had activities to do outside. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. It was very lovely. They also have a beauty parlor there and a little area where you can buy things, like tissue paper."

"We had a wonderful experience at Sunnybrook Village. They were very informative. We saw the schedule of their activities and it looked like they keep them pretty busy. There's a lot to do there. We saw the entire facility and thought it was quite nice. It seemed to have everything that you would need. "

"HillHouse had animals and kids and they brought in more activities so there's more people to interact with. There were always people being active and the food was better than most centers. The place was homey too. The rooms were nice and small enough for the residents to feel comfortable in. They also have tubs instead of showers, so they can relax."

"Not only were the facilities clean and bright,but the staff were enthusiastic, genuine and caring. It was clear that every resident is cherished. "

"The staff that I worked with were great people who cared deeply about our residents. It was very sad some days to work there because every resident had Alzheimer's and couldn't remember much. We had some really great resident who were happy go lucky and others who just wanted to be left alone. We had daily activities for the residents which included but not limited to games, religious services, dances, and other special events. I must say that even though I speak highly of this facility there were some down sides as well. For one I did not like the way the facility smelled. I wish they used some kind of air fresheners to hide or somewhat mask the smell of old people. There also could have been better food for the residents. There wasn't much of a variety of food for them. They pretty much just ate the same meals every week. Maybe adding a menu for the residents so they can choose what they would like to eat instead of having it planned for them. Overall, the facility was usually very clean inside and out and most residents and workers were happy to be there. "

"My relative is now in The Heron House and I'm happy with it. It's a smaller community and I like the fact that it's owner-occupied, and not one of these conglomerates. The staff is excellent and they have activities. I think it's a good buy. It's cheaper than the others that I've looked at, and as I can see, it's got better care than some of the big ones, and some of them had much less staff. They're an excellent value. It's a private lot, outside they've got raised beds for gardening, they've got planters on the porch that the residents can see and work on. They've also got decks on both sides of the building and they've got walking paths around the building. They have a central kitchen area and a central dining area."

"My father is at St. Andrews Village Retirement Community. They have houses with assisted living, and they have nursing and rehab. They have a little bit of everything there. He is in the skilled unit right now. They have been great to him, they have been tremendous, they have been awesome. The interaction has been mostly over the phone and we haven't been able to go visit the building because of Covid, and it has been great, everybody has been fantastic. We do window visits with him, so we can see right through his room, and they are great that they are putting him right at the window for us, so it is almost like a face-to-face visit as best as it can be right now. At first, he wasn't thrilled about going there, to begin with, but now he is joking with everybody and is more comfortable. He has been limited with the food but that's only because of his restriction."

"My husband was in Marshwood Center for a couple of weeks and then passed away. He was in skilled nursing. They were about to put him into hospice, but that didn't happen because he passed away too soon. It seemed to be very good. I didn't have any qualms with it. They took fairly good care of him. We stayed most of the day, every day, so we kind of oversaw the care he was getting, which was good. The staff was very good. He was one of those patients they had to keep an eye on because he would try to get up and couldn't. They had him right across from the nurse's station so they could keep an eye on him. They don't want him to fall and that was a good thing. The structure was pretty good. It's been there a long time, so it does need some redo, could stand some paint and stuff, but it was clean. They had quite a few things going on, but we weren't part of it. He wasn't able to do that. The atmosphere was quite open. You come in the door and there's never anybody there, but we knew where we were headed generally. After the first time, it was not a problem for us, but like all of them, they could stand a little more help in the front office part of things, but it worked out for us. He had a nice private room which looked out on the back wood line. It's back in the area away from a lot of houses and stuff. It was quite pleasant. We had a birdfeeder out there and we'd just look outside. He had a reasonably good room."

"My mother was a resident for 5 months until her passing. The staff were very and attentive to my mother and our families needs. Mom was very well cared for. I had great comfort in knowing she was safe and every need was met. Mom loved the food and was happy there. This facility was a blessing when I could no longer care for her at home."

"My father has been moved in to Foreside Harbor for a week now. We have another relative that has been there for two years, so we were very pleased that they had an opening as we are familiar there. The rooms and apartments are beautiful, spacious, and clean. I went over there for lunch today. I had seafood Alfredo, and it was very good. The dining room is beautiful. It’s right on the ocean and has a beautiful view. The people in the dining room are kind of like waiters and waitresses; they really attend to everybody’s needs. They also know the people’s dietary restriction. If somebody orders something that they are not supposed to have, then they’re on that as well. They have a lot of entertainment that comes in, people that do lectures, play games, and movies. They have a lady there with a van, and she does shopping, they have tours, and they have arts and crafts. I think the security and safety is excellent. The price sucks you out, but they are right in tune with everybody else. "

"My father-in-law stayed at Bolster Heights Residential Care for respite. He needed some kind of assistance. It's decent. I realized from the very beginning when we went there, they were very kind and caring to him. They made it easy for him to feel at home. I didn't hear any complaints from him because he doesn't like to go to a nursing home. They had to call us to get permission to have him tested because he loves food too much, so I don't think the food was an issue. I've seen them doing some kind of an exercise workout. His room was spacious, nice, and clean. One thing is for sure, I would put him back there again if I needed to. If it's time for him to have a permanent placement, that's probably where he's gonna go. It's kind of an old facility. He came back to the house pretty happy. They were the cheapest that I could find. If it was for a longer term, the price would be a little bit less."

"Very homey feeling. Beautiful living room with antiques. Have a library for the residents. Large covered deck. Has a nursing level of care wing for continued care as the residents age. Lots of activities for residents. "
