I saw a room and some of the spaces briefly. It was freshly painted. The room I saw was dark, but in the desert that's usually preferable, because it gets so hot here."

"Why I chose for my mom over some of the other ones was because of one, location, two, the way they manage their medicine, and three, the grounds. I like that it's all one level and the cottage situation. They have good reviews. They have lots of daily memory care activities and her room is quite large. It looks like they have a lot to offer when it comes to food, but because of COVID we haven't gone in to have dinner with her yet. The staff has been excellent and very responsive. The facilities are fantastic. I like their entire layout."

"Stonewall Gardens is a small facility. There are only 20-some-odd rooms. It seems like it would be very congenial, but it's a little bit farther away, and I'd feel a little bit isolated there. I just feel I would be more comfortable closer to home. It's also a little bit more expensive than the other place. It was lunchtime when we toured, and the staff had a couple of interruptions, but he was very personable and very helpful. He showed us three places and they were all very nice. I saw the menus. They offer three meals a day, seven days a week. Some of the people living there were eating when I walked in."

"My wife moved to MD Premier Luxury Senior Home. I'm very satisfied with the facility. I'm very satisfied with the care that she's getting, and the environment, and she's been treated very well. I see it every day. The staff is very kind to her. It's a practically new building. The facility is excellent. I have no complaints. It was a very clean and very comfortable environment. The food is prepared from scratch daily, three times a day. They gave me some of that and it was delicious. The only stimulus that she's capable of is television, and when the weather gets better they're going to take her for a little walk around the perimeter of the building. They don't have any games they play or anything of that nature. They give her what she's capable of doing. As for the value, that's the best I can afford. They certainly don't have higher facilities with higher rates, and I feel quite comfortable with the fees"

"We visited Bayshire Rancho Mirage. They have a skilled nursing facility and a residential side. They would do everything if you wanted to live there or have your parent live there. They do laundry services and meals. They take you to the doctors' offices and the usual stuff. I liked that it was clean. It didn't feel or smell like a nursing facility. It felt like a home. The staff was friendly, outgoing, personable, and understood the issues we were facing. She's very sympathetic. The facility was great. They're almost like mini apartments."

"Four Seasons was very nice and spacious. Nice people, but my husband is a lot more active than the residents they have there, so he would not be a good fit. They were very knowledgeable, and they showed me all of the things that they have. They have a lot of safety features -- which were very nice. "

"I chose Desert Cove for my mom becuase I liked the price. It’s a smaller facility with about 12 or 16 beds. I have met a couple of friendly staff members, and the whole place is very well maintained. The residents seem relaxed and happy. The grounds of the community are good and include some walking paths. The surrounding neighborhood is an older one. They say my mom is eating very well, so that should be very good for her. "
