"Segovia is located in a very busy area which I didn't think I would like but once you get in, you don't hear any of that noise. The whole place was just extremely spacious and extremely elegant. It was mostly for the very wealthy people. It was a fairly new facility that took care of everything for you. You can get any size apartment and if you have a car, they offered a separate garage. There was a movie theatre for the residents. They also had exercises classes and day trips and speakers would come in and talk on different subjects. I had lunch at Segovia with a friend and I had nothing bad to say about the lunch. It was a very luxurious and very lovely place. "

"I visited Mission Hills. It was very pleasant and very nice. The visit was very helpful, but we decided it wasn’t a place for us. We wanted a kitchen in the room. Nevertheless, the food was very good, and there were some good things to do, too. "

"Vista Cove at Rancho Mirage is great. My relative is doing very well, they're really good at the level of care that he needs, so I know that he's safe and well-cared for. I'm really glad that I was able to get him in there. The staff is very friendly, caring, and really takes good care of him. The rooms are normally shared. He initially had his own room, but because of COVID nobody can go into the facilities. I was able to help set up his room, but that was the only time I was in there."

"I toured. They were just nice, nice people. The facilities are beautiful. It is just very expensive. Everything was just very beautiful, very comfortable looking. It was just lovely. Lovely facilities."

"Stonewall Gardens is a small facility. There are only 20-some-odd rooms. It seems like it would be very congenial, but it's a little bit farther away, and I'd feel a little bit isolated there. I just feel I would be more comfortable closer to home. It's also a little bit more expensive than the other place. It was lunchtime when we toured, and the staff had a couple of interruptions, but he was very personable and very helpful. He showed us three places and they were all very nice. I saw the menus. They offer three meals a day, seven days a week. Some of the people living there were eating when I walked in."

"My husband is in day care at Five Star, which is part of Eisenhower Medical Center, and that's been very good. There are different levels there, but they're on a higher level, and my husband is one of the better off people. He's really not in bad shape. He just has memory problems. Some of them just sleep all the time, but they have a very active program. There are lots of things going on all the time, so it's a very good place for somebody who can benefit from it. They're not taking care of them like the nurse would. They're just providing entertainment, exercises, and overseeing them, and as far as I can tell, they do fine. "

"My 86-year-old mother had major surgery and spent two months at the Monterey Palms Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). As far as SNF go, I am pleased to say that this facility is one of the best. No SNF is perfect, but at this facility everyone from the Director, to Supervisors, RN’s, CNA’s, physical, occupational and speech therapists, and housekeeping staff were caring, professional and overall wonderful humans. Even when minor challenges arose, they addressed the issues as quickly as possible. The staff treated my mom and me with great respect and good humor. They answered my questions and helped train me on the care my mom will need once home. If my mom has to go back for rehab, I wouldn’t hesitate to have her go to Monterey Palms. I wish I could call out the staff by name but I don’t want to miss anyone because they all deserve a huge thank you and to know how much they are appreciated. Thank you all!"
