"We really liked the Sunlit Gardens in Alta Loma for my mom because my mother-in-law was also there. She was in assisted living, and she was there until she passed. They were just amazing. They did every single thing they possibly could to help my mom, and they were really, really good. I was very comfortable with my mom being there. The staff was all very caring. I can't really base the food on her because she just stopped eating once she got there. I've eaten there before, and the food was really good. They had music in the living room, and they had lots of stuff going on. The place was also very clean and very nice."

"My mom-in-law personally chose Mission Commons because they have units that you could rent with full kitchens including stoves, and refrigerators. She is not a candidate for assisted-living. She moved into the independent-living part where she has a full apartment. They provide her with limited services which is all she needs at this time. One of her reasons for choosing this facility is for the proximity to two of her children. The facility provides good meals. They have a transportation that takes them to church every Sunday, and shopping once a week. They have teas every afternoon, and social hours. Mom-in-law seems to be enjoying all of that. "

The owner is a registered nurse as well as her three children who work along side her. Doctors, psychiatrist, podiatrist home health and hospice visit all Genesis homes on a regular basis. "My dad is living in Genesis Manor VI. It's a very clean and a beautiful house, and the people are very well-mannered. The dining area is great. It’s a little less expensive than where my dad used to stay."

"My aunt will move into Cadence at Rancho Cucamonga. The people were very nice. The activities - there's something to do every day. The fact that she can order her food and either go to the cafe or have it delivered to her room was great. That was awesome. It's very, very clean. They come into the laundry once a week. They deliver the food. They help you out with her medication, making sure she's taking it every day, and they will walk with her if she wants company while walking. The food was delicious and made to order. The staff was great. She was amazing. She constantly asked my aunt, "How are you feeling? What do you think?" She was really concerned about how she felt about it and how she felt okay with it."

"I went to D'Vine Home. It's less money per month than at my mom's current facility. I'm really torn as to do I move her just to save money every month. They offered activities. They made the facility feel like it was a home, not a nursing home, but a residence. It was clean and had a lively atmosphere. There was a small dining table and a kitchen counter like a bar area, and that was part of the open kitchen area. I really didn't interact with the staff too much, but the owners were a five-star. They had a menu posted. I didn't taste the food, but everything looked good. They had indoor games and an outdoor area."

"My father in law was the first resident Caroline took in. He received excellent care and when the time came that we needed to place my mother in law, I was glad they could both be together. The house was always clean, my in laws, were always showered and dressed. Caroline and her family were always friendly and helpful. Caroline was always quick to call us if there was an issue we needed to be aware of. I would highly recommend this facility. "

"I'm very happy with D'Desert Rose. I like the house, the atmosphere, and the room for my husband. It's very nice and cozy. When I first walked in, I immediately liked everything about it. So far so good, they're taking good care of him, and he's looking good. They have to help him get in and out of his wheelchair. He has memory problems, and he has dementia, but he's doing much better in being there. They're very concerned about him, they make sure he gets a haircut or a shave, and they take very good care of him. The staff even came out when I brought stuff to the house for him; they're very helpful. I haven't tried the food, but I've smelled it when I've been there visiting with him. I can't go in because of COVID; they're being very careful about that. So I speak to my husband through the window in the dining room, which is next to the window. I've been there while they're cooking, and it smelled very good."

"We visited Foremost Retirement Community. It's very nice and very good. Everything was just right. It's in a nice, quiet residential neighborhood. It seems secure, and that's important. It has a nice environment if you want to walk your dogs. There's a cute restaurant nearby. It's about a mile from the main strip of town where you'll find a Walgreens, the bank, and the post office. They're all relatively very close. The upkeep was just fine. It wasn't dirty, it was clean, and it was well-maintained. We looked at all the individual little apartments. They all have a parking spot and green grass in front. They're connected. You might have one or two neighbors, but they're very private. You don't get your meals or anything. You're totally on your own. They have a long kitchen. You could have a full-sized fridge, a four-burner stove, a sink, and a counter. And then the studio, you could set up a queen bed, a TV, a good-sized bathroom, and a little closet. The other nice thing is that it's only one level. There are no two stories, so you don't have to worry about climbing stairs or anything. They have both independent and assisted living. The staff who toured me was very helpful, friendly, and professional. She did great. You feel like you're in a little apartment building. It's so independent and quiet. The only thing is that you don't have a little private yard for your dog or cat. It's all just one big open area, so you don't have a patio, you don't have a place to barbecue, you don't have anything like that. "

"The people at A Mission of Love seem to be giving my dad really great care. He actually likes it there. It's warm and comfortable. They feed him well and pay attention to him which is very much appreciated. He's only been there for a little over a month. They seem to care a lot and there's always somebody there for the people. The food looked and smelled good. The place is very homey and you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. Compared to everything else, the value is excellent."

"I'm leaning towards Golden Years Elderly Care, Inc. We liked that it is a home environment. They have the home set-up, which is very clean. I like that they have max residents of only six so they can give attention to their residents. I also like the compassion and the attitude of the caregivers. It's a husband-and-wife team. This is not something they have to do, it's something they chose to do because they love and care for the people that are there. The rooms were clean and ready keeping in mind safety first so that there were clear pathways for those patients who are high-risk falls. They have very clear and open spaces to walk. The bathroom also was set up with an open shower, and I believe they had bars to hold on to. There was also a dining area where the residents can have community time if they were able to sit together. And there was also a covered patio where they can sit outside. When I asked about their food, the wife let me know that they do home-cooked meals and that they do include the family's recommendations for their loved ones, and what items that the family likes, they will provide it. The place was immaculate. It's very clean."

"Jasmine is a beautiful person and a good cook and she truly cares about the people that she takes care of. But she needs more help. It is amazing what she's able to do by herself. She gives everyone special attention and she cooks them food that they like. They need to charge more and hire more people."

"Whispering Winds of Apple Valley was a very welcoming, very relaxed, and enjoyable environment. The apartment was a nice size, clean, and efficient. We're looking at the one-bedroom, so it had a kitchen, a living room, and then a bedroom. The staff was very friendly and very willing to listen and offer ideas and willing to explain things in depth. They were in the process of remodeling. What they were doing looked very nice. They have a dining area. The gym area was not accessible because they were remodeling that area. They had a pool table area. They have a room where they do cooking classes for the residents. That all looked very nice and clean. They're not serving food to nonresidents right now."
