"Henrietta's Leven Oaks was excellent. My mom stayed there and I would recommend them. They went over and beyond the call of duty. It was an old hotel that was converted to a senior living. It's just lovely and it's got beautiful grounds. What my husband and I liked about it was that the residents would all be taken to the dining room for their breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So, they weren't isolated in their rooms, unless they were ill. It was just a very comfortable place, very clean, and the workers were amazing. They also have a board that shows whatever activity was planned for the day, which included painting fingernails, and some speakers or music that comes in. They plan things for Thanksgiving or Halloween. They put up decorations for Christmas with a big, beautiful Christmas tree. So, they did an excellent job with their activities. Although a lot of people were not able to participate in these activities, you would still see people doing puzzles and playing dominoes or whatever they could as their ability permitted."

"My sister is currently a resident of Claremont Place. The appearance of the place is wonderful, and the layout is well-thought out. I think it’s a nice place, I just think that they could do better in training their staff members. I thought that for that type of senior place they are very attentive to keeping the patients stimulated, not that patients are just sitting around and staring at the ceiling. My sister is younger, far stronger, and more able than most patients, so they aren’t able to take care of her. They have a garden out back where they get the residents involved, they have art projects for artistic residents, and so on. The staff members are wonderful people, and I think that everyone we’ve encountered are very accommodating and understanding. It’s just that my sister’s behavior is above what they’re trained to deal with."

"I went to Aqua Ridge of Montclair. That one was pretty much brand new. That was not even maybe two years old. It was beautiful, clean, and bright. The decoration was nice, bright, and airy. It was nice. The bathrooms were big. The studios were medium-sized. The ceilings were high and they had a phony wall that gave you the illusion that the room was big. The facility was clean and very nice."

"My sister moved into Brookdale Uptown Whittier, and they are wonderful. I love the staff, and they have done well. They were very attentive, and they really pay attention to the people. I went in there to check it out before my sister moved in. They were very nice and very informative. It's a two-bedroom apartment with a kitchenette, and it was perfect for her. I don't think they have many activities yet because of COVID, but I think they are starting to have them again. They have started to allow friends and family to visit. It looks like they have begun serving meals in the main dining area. Everything seems to be perfect. They don't have a coffee shop because there is one within walking distance. They do offer coffee in the mornings. They have a library, and they have a place where they can do puzzles; they have quite a few things. They are informative, and they let me know if something is going on with her. The food was great. I've seen the menu, and it is put together well."

"I toured and the place was delightful, homey, and welcoming. There were people around engaged and the residents were out, it felt friendly. The room that I saw was spacious and clean, and most of them had a lot of outside space. The staff who gave the tour was delightful, enthusiastic, and welcoming. I didn't sample the food but the dining area looked great. In terms of activities, I saw one impromptu game of mahjong and board games."

"La Posada is an assisted living, it's terrific, the staff is absolutely fantastic, and the food is good. They have all kinds of activities, games, they even give them haircuts, and clip their toenails. There are nurses on duty all the time. They're an absolutely great facility. They also have hospice. It's a little more expensive, but you get what you pay for. The food is very good."
