My mother-in-law is in Shadow Mountain Memory Care. She's only been there a few days but we thought it was the best choice for her at this point. It's not assisted living and every bed in there is a memory care bed. As a total memory care facility, we feel that everybody, from the engineer making repairs to sales, and the director, as well as the care providers, are all familiar and trained with memory care. The staff is friendly, attentive, and understands memory care and dementia, and how to deal with the residents. They're not luxurious, they're utilitarian, but they're fine. Everything is clean too and from what I've seen when I'm there, they have activities most of the time. They have music, one time they were going over current events, and another time they were playing this kind of ball catch game. It is pricey though.
