We're using Home Instead - Charlotte, NC. I will give it a ten if I only had Consuelo, but every day, I have a different person who comes into the home. I have to repeat myself and tell them where everything is and how to do everything. They do light housekeeping. They help get my husband ready in the morning and prepare him for his day, and that's it because I do all his cooking and everything. With that little bit right there, I still have to explain everything to them. I have to show them where stuff is and everything like that. It's always a different person that they send. I wish they would just let me have one person and that's it. If they come for one hour, you had to pay for four hours. So, it's four hours a day, 12 hours a week minimum. One day, somebody didn't show up and then they wanted to send somebody from the office to come for me for an hour, so I would have to pay four hours that day. When it's good, it's good, because they sent me somebody good and that caregiver won't be able to start until next week. She'd only be able to do it for two days because she's got so many other clients.

Home Instead has been more than we asked for. HI has been professional, listens well, states clear boundaries and responds positively to our boundaries, and has been very very caring. Our person, we have grown to love, and consider her a friend of the family. Both of my parents have become positively engaged with their caretaker. The days she is with my parents, I do not worry about details, what-ifs, or have any negative thoughts. We are so grateful for HI, and have not looked back since starting with them!

We contacted Home Instead to provide a companion for my elderly mother during my father's time in the hospital after an accident. After his recovery and return home, we've recognized the great value of having Florence continue her visits to provide meal prep and home organization assistance. Mom and Dad rave over Florence's cooking and thoroughly enjoy her visits. Karen provides timely updates to Florence's schedule and is proactive in contacting the family with any issues. Billing has been smooth and detailed. Overall experience has been excellent, and would definitely recommend Home Instead.
