We have been with Addus for like two or three months. They are just a professionally run operation. It's just like hiring anybody else I believe. I would recommend them. I am not sure, but they are so big that they seem to have some communication problems sometimes. It's just that when you call them, no one calls you back. It's like you are dealing with a mom and pop store. I don't know; I can't nail it down. My mom is comfortable though, and I feel that it is a good match.

We receive services of HHCA for our parent. The Case Manager is very rude and extremely difficult to get a hold of on the phone. We have been with them for over a year and Calls are not returned at all. I was able to speak to the case manager only Once. I don't understand why the Senior Management does not know this problem and do something about it. The Two Aids that have been providing the service are great. They do a good job when supervised. But I am unable to be there 24/7.

We receive services of HHCA for our parent. Case managers are difficult to get ahold of on the phone. Calls are not returned at all or not returned in timely manner. I have found voice messages I have left have never been retrieved. Many different case managers in the short time we have been with Addus makes for poor continuity of care. Communication re fill in care givers has been poor. I’ve not been notified at times when a fill in is coming. Example; One time, a fill in caregiver showed up unannounced, unknown to me she was coming, no name tag. Caregivers show up perpetually late, miss days for reasons that are unexcusable in my book (no ride, no babysitter). Caregivers have shown up to work disheveled, dirty hair, dirty clothes, reeking of smoke. Cell phones: I think it should be a rule that cell phones should not be used on job unless; a. Used to communicate re client. b. Used during a break. I’ve had caregivers show up to work and 1st thing that is done is to sit down and eat their lunch. HHCA frequently late and tardiness is not monitored by case managers. HHCA sleeping while with my parent/client. Caregivers asked to help with chores according to care plan are not completed yet caregiver has time to sit and play on phone. If chores are done, HHCA should use time to sit w client, ask what else could be done to help....

Huge turnover in personnel! I'm not sure management has a clue. Every time I get a great caregiver, they move on. There has to be a reason. Poor communication all the way around.

Do not use. Disorganized, can't draw blood well, only stays ten minutes for a much needed physical therapy, staff is un professional and takes no responsibility. Would not work with this agency again and would not recommend. Do they even interview their staff in person?

Very disorganized, poor implementation and follow through. Poor quality of caregiver. Would NOT recommend them. Very difficult to get them on the phone when needed.
