When my husband's Alzheimer's started to get bad, I finally decided to get some part-time help. Gerald made such a positive impact on our lives! At first he'd just take long walks with Barry and the dog. They'd play games and converse. Pretty soon he was giving him showers and helping him dress! The more the Alzheimer's progressed the more invaluable Gerald was to us. What was great for me was that I was able to run errands and do things outside the house without having to worry if Barry was ok. Gerald also vacuumed, did laundry and dishes, and lots of other helpful chores like taking out the trash, changing lightbulbs and repairing things. I have nothing but good things to say!!
