Fairway Knoll - Germantown is a brand-new facility. Their one-bedroom apartment was nice, and all the staff members I met were pretty informative and very good. Due to COVID, they weren't really showing too much, but I talked to some of the residents and they said they were very happy with the place. They had an exercise room, a salon, and a chapel too.

Fairway Knoll - Germantown was great. The lady during the visit was great. The facility was fairly new, it's only 2 years old, and it's absolutely gorgeous. It was our first choice. It's got a great big fitness room, and they got classes. One thing that they have that the other one didn't have is their own broadcasting system. They could have a church service and a group exercise class demonstrated, and you could sit in your room and watch it on your TV, so if you wanted to do exercising in your room, you could follow along because they broadcast from there. It's kind of like Zoom meetings, and they do that with all sorts of different programs there, so that was a real big plus. However, it's very large, and there'll be a little bit more walking than the other place. The food service looked just fine. It had just breakfast included, and then you could buy your lunch or you could buy your dinner. The food looked good. They gave us a menu. The apartment was very nice, but smaller. It was a one-bedroom with a sunroom facing the golf course, so it was very pretty, but it was a north exposure versus a south exposure on the other one. I feel my sister should have a sunnier room than a north exposure. The negative, which was the breaker, was that it was $2,400 a month. The staff was great and did follow-up calls. They also had the Alzheimer's and the assisted living option if we needed that. They had the giant fitness room with a lot of machines, another exercise room for yoga, they had a library with a computer access, a hair salon, and a big theater with a beautiful sound system. Because of COVID they were doing ten people at a time, but they were doing them all day long, so that was a big plus.
