Good Samaritan Health Center is a very good place to be! My husband has been there several times for therapy, He is now a permanent resident there. They have lots of activities. They just took them to the Yakima fair. My husband is very happy there. He gets along with most of the residents and staff. (But as we all know it does not matter where you are not going to get along with everyone.) He was a roommate and they get along most days. The stuff is very nice there. The only thing my husband doesn't like is the food there. I think if they would use some seasoning like Mrs Dash they resident might enjoy the food more. My mom was also there and love being there.

I'm a little disappointed in some of the care that mom's been getting at Good Samaritan Health Care Center. First of all, she developed a terrible rash because they weren't changing her enough, and now she's developed another kind of rash and they don't seem to be too concerned about it. Mom seems to be pleased with the rehab therapy. I am just not thrilled with the day-to-day care.

My dad is at Good Samaritan Health Care Center. It is a great facility. They are very helpful and accommodating. The food is good, and it is what it is. The staff is very nice and comforting. You can ask them anything you want. If they don't know the answer, they will find somebody else that can help you better. They have yarn activities, movie nights, and a bunch of other activities.

I have been visiting a friend for quite awhile in this facility. My friend there doesn’t eat much because the food is so bad. The shared room they occupy is not very clean and it is quite small. However, my experience with some of the staff is what I find very disappointing. As I was leaving the other evening and my friend was laying down in the bed I noticed their leg was bleeding. Blood was running down the leg and pooling on the floor. I went to the nurses station where three of them were talking and told them about the situation. They looked at me and one told me to go find a specific nurse that handled that patient and went back to talking. I finally found the nurse ( who was busy with her work) and she came quickly to take care of the patient. I would never allow a loved one to come to this facility.

Good Samaritan is the worst nursing home in the valley. They don't care about their clients at all. Everyone in there is inept, and unable to care for anyone but themselves. My grandfather has been in their "care" for about 6 months and his health has done nothing but decline. They stopped doing physical therapy because it's too "risky" with Covid. Now he can't even stand up on his own, or hardly feed himself thanks to their garbage help. If you want your loved one to go in to a nursing home to watch them deteriorate while you're powerless to do anything about it, or watch them put your loved one in their bed like a rag doll, then Good Samaritan is the perfect fit for you and you're loved one.

I have/had a relative staying at good samaritan in yakima wa. It is clean and didn't have the usual smell that tends to go with care facilities. My problem with the place is that they are not honest (upper management staff). My family member didn't pay enough because he/she didn't require enough care for the higher pay. I was told flat out that the state is requiring him/her to move to a lesser care facility. A total lie. They refuse to Communicate any information about Dr's appointments or even for what they are about. My family member fell while going to the dr, walking by himself and fell. No call. When confronted I was told that they called, another lie. I was shocked when I saw his black and blue face and legs.

2 different times we asked the day shift charge nurse how are moms lungs sounded, both times we were told CLEAR. Both times she LIED and had never even went to see are mom. Wonder if this is how she would treat her mom? Dietary is a JOKE my mom is on a 2 gram low sodium diet (a common diet in rehabs/nursing homes) which NONE of the kitchen staff have a clue on what that it is! 3 days in one week mom had Tomato soup and a cheese sandwich for her dinner, another day her dinner was scalloped potatoes and carrots the main dish was HAM which low sodium diets can not have, we get that BUT THEY should've had an alternate for her and anyone else that is on a 2 gram low sodium diet in facility. We've called, we've had meetings, I spoke with administrator yesterday, she assured me the DNS would be calling me before the end of the day to give me an update on my mom, im still waiting for that call. My sister went there today requested the DNS meet her in moms room to discuss are concerns she never showed. NO ONE seems to care.

I was at Good Samaritan after I had my hips replaced. I was in the unit where they have physical therapy. The care was excellent. What's nice is that even though you had to do exercises, you are still very well taken care of. The facility is really nice. I just don't have anything bad to say at all. The physical therapists were encouraging. When I would do exercises, my hip would hurt afterward; I would turn on my call button and ask for ice, and they'd bring ice. They just took really good care of us and I've heard that from other people who have stayed there, too. They were prompt in responding. They were very good about being there not too long after you turn on your call light. The facility was very well kept; it didn't smell bad and it didn't look bad. They always encouraged us to go down and eat our meals in the dining room. You could sit at whichever table you wanted and you would get to know different people who lived there, too. It was a fun atmosphere.

The hospital referred Good Samaritan Health Care Center to me. The facility doesn’t smell bad, there was no odor, and that was a really big thing. The facility is very clean. The staff, the nurse, everybody were just very pleasant. The food was okay. They took care of my meds. The rehab was great. It was an overall good experience.

Mom stayed at Good Samaritan Health Care Center for a short-term rehab until she got better and lived on her own. We were totally happy with the care there and the accomplishment with the rehab. The staff was very wonderful, very attentive, and very available. The place was clean, no smell whatsoever.
