"My sister has moved into Chandler House. The staff is very kind, caring, and welcoming. It's very clean and organized. It's a lovely place. I only saw the little house where my sister lives. I saw the common room and the dining room, and her bedroom, and I met three staff members. It has individual bedrooms that branch off from the main area. There are six residents per little house, because there are multiple houses as part of the facility. There is a little outdoor area with a seating area just outside of the dining room, which is just next to the common sitting room. They provide three meals a day. It's a relatively new facility. It's good value for the money."

"Brookdale Yakima was a nice facility, but it was just a little too large for mom. It was new. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The room was very well laid out. They had reading rooms, a theater room, and a lot of amenities for the residents. They provide transportation to appointments and activities. There was a library, a community area to watch movies, a little kitchen where they could make popcorn, and areas for family gatherings. The dining area was nice, too."

"My dad will be moving in. The staff was super helpful, kind, and patient. The room was small, but nice. The living atmosphere was very comfortable and friendly. The facility was modern, clean, and attractive. The dining area was very nice and kind of fancy. They have a piano. They have chickens, a garden area, and a yard for your pets if you have dogs. They have TV rooms and game rooms."

"My husband is in Meadows Place. He said the staff is very, very kind, and very caring. He's very happy there. He did a bible study there several years ago, and he was familiar with it. He liked the location. It's off the road, and it's quiet. He very much liked the people working there, so it was a pretty easy choice for him. It's very nice and very clean. I don't think he has taken part in any of the activities yet. The nurse is very thoughtful and very kind. The facility is very nice."

"My parents moved to the Ponderosa Assisted Living Community. They had great staff. I value the staff there and the way they treat my folks. The best feature I noticed there I guess would be accessibility. It's an older place, but it's in good upkeep. They have a variety of activities. They bring in a musician to sing and they have different things like Wii systems. They go shopping and they have a church service."

"The Terraces at Summitview was very nice and reasonable. I went there to visit a friend and I really liked the place a lot better than the rest of them. There's nothing that I don't like. It's newer, it's nice, and it had a lot of space. They've got nice people. It's just a pleasant place to go. The staff was very nice. It was clean. The residents looked happy. There are restaurants and shopping areas right across the street. The dining area was nice and big, and it's very clean and bright. They have activities, but I didn't ask about it; I've read about it."

"Avamere at Englewood Heights was more of an older facility. It wasn't quite as new, but the layout was really good. It was medium-sized facility. The room was nice and a little bit more comfortable. The staff was really good, too. They had a recreation area where they could play pool, ping pong, or have a conversation. They had a section (it wasn't a huge section) that had a TV area, where people could watch TV, a movie, or play card games. They also had two small buses that they use to provide transportation for them."

"My mother was a resident for three years at Crescent till her recent passing. They took excellent care of her right up to the end. I would not think twice about placing a loved one here. The facility itself is older but it’s clean. The rooms are situated for two resident’s, with room to spare. The staff are wonderful and caring. They keep in contact with the family with any changes to the residents care etc. The food is not bad as I have had it myself. The residents get three beverages, a full plate of food They are given the option for snacks in between meals with also some sort of beverage. There is also feeding assistance if it is needed. I cannot say enough how much I appreciate everything they had done."

"My mother was in Willow Springs Care. She was very pleased with the physical therapist. I think they needed more staff. That was the negative. Her room needed some updating. There was a hole in the door. It was very clean. They closed down their other dining room because they said of COVID, but there's other care facilities and areas that were open. So I tend to think it might have been more due to lack of people. And then when they brought the food to her, it was frequently cold. She was fortunate that she had a single room and it had a bathroom, but it was quite small, and she was having trouble getting in. So it would have been nicer if she'd had a little bit bigger bathroom. They keep it clean, and there's no nursing care home smells about it, which is very good. You hate to go into a place for older people and have it smell funky. The pricing is ridiculous."

"I like Landmark Care And Rehabilitation because they just seemed to care about my mom. Her room is pretty clean. She has enough room for her clothes and everything. The staff is very friendly. The people doing the activities are nice and they do the ladies' hair for free once a month. They also have a lot of other activities going on like bingo and gardening. They have two places where they can plant plants and stuff and take care of them."

"My mom is at Fieldstone Memory Care. We chose it because of its location and the quality of staff. They are very caring and very accommodating. They have people that come in to put on little shows, they have music playing, card playing, people that come in to give talks, and they engage the people with conversation and movies. The community is very nice. It's like being in a little town."

"A few weeks ago, my husband's 95-year-old grandfather suffered a heart attack. He's already ill with emphysema and other problems. He lived with his wife in Peach Tree Retirement Center in Yakima and they both enjoyed living there. But Grandma is 90 and, while Peach Tree is nice, they aren't equipped to provide the intense care Grandpa now needs. After a couple of weeks of touch-and-go illness problems, during which the family really felt the dear man would pass away, he rallied but still was too ill to go home to Peach Tree. None of the family is capable of providing the medical/personal care he needs so it was decided he would be sent to a real nursing home. Garden Village is directly associated with Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital where Grandpa was and they were recommended by his doctor. My husband and I, along with his 70-year-old mother (Grandpa's daughter) wanted to first check this place out before any commitments were made on his behalf. We found the staff to be compassionate and truly seemed to care about Grandpa's special needs. They discussed every aspect of the care instructed by his doctor. The building and grounds were clean and well-kept. They place didn't smell like a nursing home, if you know what I mean. The residents were free to come and go as they pleased and if they were able, although most were not. Grandpa's condition is severe and he can no longer care for himself in any way, so we were particularly concerned about what kind of attention he would receive. The staff, while busy, didn't seem overwhelmed and we personally witnessed several staff kindly assisting residents with mobility issues. We even spoke to a few residents, all of whom said that, while they were very unhappy with having to be away from home, they did appreciate the care they received at Garden Village. While we were there, a resident passed away and, since it was from natural causes, the staff didn't make a big scene about it. An ambulance was summoned but it arrived with only lights, not sirens, and went to the rear of the building instead of bursting in through the front door. The person was removed discreetly and with dignity. The residents that were aware of what was going on seemed distressed and the staff did their best to calm them in a kindly way. Grandpa has now been there about a week and, while he isn't very compos mentis at this point, the family that has visited him there have had nothing but positive things to say. "

"Cascades of Chesterley has helped my mom be around with people. She seems a lot happier now and more relaxed. People have just been really great with her. They have church services on Sunday afternoons, which have been very important for her. She is getting good meals. It's been a pretty positive experience so far. They treat the residents really well. They were doing some major remodeling, so they're trying to upgrade the facility. She loves reading, and they have a group where they get together and discuss stuff."

"I liked Rexford Manor very much. It was great and 5 stars. They're wonderful. It was a strong contender. I almost chose to go there. It's a small place, so it has a more intimate community. They had a full kitchen and a washer and dryer in each apartment. The staff was totally friendly."
