Independent Living Communities in Wenatchee, WA

"I visited Colonial Vista Senior Living and toured their independent living community for my parents. The rooms were a little bit better for my parents. The size of the room that they can get there would better meet their needs. It's a little bit bigger, and the particular rooms I looked at were 2-bedroom apartments. It would be fantastic for my parents to be able to have that second bedroom. It's very attractive. The staff members I met seemed very nice. I didn't have as large an opportunity to personally meet a lot of the staff members, and I would say that's primarily because it's twice the size of the other places I visited. They said when I return with my parents, to come in and we'll get a complimentary lunch, so I'm waiting for that."

"My friend was at Riverwest Assisted Living and it was a beautiful place. It was great, they were well cared for, and it was really clean. We were allowed to go in and have lunch with our friend. The food was good with a good variety, and it was a good, nutritious meal. Everybody was friendly and his care was really well. He was very happy with them, his wife too, she used to go there every afternoon."

"The Bonaventure of East Wenatchee is a little expensive. I visited the independent living section, and the person who gave the tour was excellent at her job. She was very informative and tried to help me. The grounds were very well kept up, groomed, and maintained. The rooms were also big. They have a couple of dining areas, and they're very well furnished. The first one is formal dining. They have a piano there, so now and then they'll have a fall kind of ballroom dining. The other place is the short-order dining area for sandwiches or pizza, and things like that. They hold events there, too. All your raffles, drawing cards, and such. They made me a breakfast burrito, and it was good."

"East Wenatchee Senior Living is the one that I really like for my parents. I toured their independent living community, and I really loved all the people and the caregivers at the facility, and their attitude. I was able to meet everybody. It's a smaller facility, too, so that's a positive in that regard. I know that they're going to be going through major remodeling and all. I heard that a company bought it out, and they're going to be doing major upgrades on the building, which is great. The cleanliness is good. I wouldn't degrade them for the remodeling at all, since that's in the works. It means new carpeting, furnishings, paint, and everything is going to be redone. The kitchen staff and the kitchen manager were fantastic people. Their menu is extraordinary, and they do everything daily from scratch. They even gave me a pie to take home with me. I was very surprised and very impressed. I even asked them if I could come in and eat lunch sometimes because it just looks so fantastic."

"I toured Avamere at Wenatchee. It had lots of amenities. It was very clean and the staff was super nice. The one that I looked at was really nice. It had high ceilings, so it felt really spacious. Kevin, the gentleman that showed me around, is very knowledgeable. He introduced me to a lady that takes care of planning all the activities. Sounds like they have quite a bunch of different activities they can do. They can take them on excursions."
