Right now, I'm in a place called Riverwest Assisted Living. I'm happy here, but I'd like to find something that requires a little less money. I just would rather find something that's cheaper. I'm handicapped, so they feed me, and when I do take a shower, they have someone stand by for me. I also get three meals a day. Before, I didn't even eat the food. Today, I went down and got barbecued chicken and ate it. They finally got a good cook. Before, it was just pasta, and I'm not a real pasta fan. The facility is pretty much top-notch. However, they're replacing people constantly, which kind of sucks. When the new ones show up, you've got to reorganize them and let them know what your preferences are. It's just a pain to me and a pain to them.

My mom has been in the Riverwest Assisted Living for about four weeks now, so we haven't been there very long. The staff seems to be friendly and concerned. She has a very neat and clean 'super studio', that's how they call it, so it's a much bigger room. It was in good shape and ready to go when they said so. She's not dining with the rest of the residents yet. They bring the food to her room because she's having some physical problems. The food generally seems to be good, but the price is pretty high for what we're getting.

My friend was at Riverwest Assisted Living and it was a beautiful place. It was great, they were well cared for, and it was really clean. We were allowed to go in and have lunch with our friend. The food was good with a good variety, and it was a good, nutritious meal. Everybody was friendly and his care was really well. He was very happy with them, his wife too, she used to go there every afternoon.

My first impression with Riverwest is that I am absolutely shocked because I have gone through so many other ones and with this one, I really feel like I have come home. It has that atmosphere of everybody caring for one another, and that's why I choose it for my husband. The staff is very professional, and their director has been there for more than 10 years. Their rooms are in a square with an atrium thing in the middle. The dining room is part of that atrium in the middle, and all the rooms are around the edges. I really like the consistency and that my husband is still safe there.

Sure glad I visited River West while looking for a retirement home for my mom. It is a great place with a staff that obviously loves what they do and it shows. We don's have to look anymore as we have found the perfect spot here.
