My mother has been at The Cottages of Lacey for several years and from what I’ve seen she receives wonderful care. She’s not someone who is easily pleased but no complaints from her and that’s a big deal. She enjoys playing cards with the staff and getting her nails done. I am beyond disappointed with my experience at this memory care facility. The level of neglect my loved one received was appalling. Staff seemed either overworked or indifferent, and basic needs were consistently overlooked. My relative often went without proper hygiene, and it was clear that they were not being monitored as closely as they should have been. On multiple occasions, I noticed signs of untreated injuries, and it took far too long to get any sort of response when I raised concerns. Communication with families was nearly nonexistent, and any attempts to inquire about the care plan were met with vague or dismissive answers. The facility might look nice on the surface, but the lack of genuine care for the residents is unacceptable. I would not recommend this place to anyone who wants their loved ones to be treated with dignity and respect.

DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONES IN THIS FACILITY!!!! They do not take care of their residents properly! My mother ended up with gangrene and almost lost her leg. They sued me for a full month+ of her participation fee, when she was only in the facility for two weeks. Due to their neglect of care, I had her remove. They filed a report with APS against me for not taking my mother to the doctor, when I knew nothing about it. I have since been cleared of any wrongdoing, but it was and continues to be a lot of unnecessary stress on our entire family. They also lie and finagle paperwork. I do suggest that anyone looking into placing a family member or friend in this facility, think twice or even three times before doing so!

We chose the Cottages of Lacey for my mother. They were very organized, they had everything well set up, their security was top notch, and the rooms that we saw were very well kept. There were two people to a room. They had their own kitchen, and they had their own areas where they would congregate, and do whatever they wanted to do. The food was excellent, I saw it being prepared, but I didn't eat there. It was a very nice place. They had four people to a table, and there were six tables total, but I wasn't there when they were eating. Monica was just here yesterday. She came out and evaluated my mother; she was very thorough, and professional. There is an outdoor area where you can go outside.
