My mother was at Dinwiddie Health & Rehab Center in Dinwiddie for 6 weeks and was very happy with it. She was in the rehab center but they also have a full-time nursing home there. It was excellent. They had her in a better condition when she got out than when she went in there. The facility conditions were excellent. It's clean, odor-free, and a very nice place. The staff was very caring, really seemed to want to be good to the patients, and was very concerned about their well-being. The only activity I saw was bingo. I don't know what else they did. I have not eaten there because, at the time, they weren't feeding outside people, just the ones who were there.

Don’t be fooled by the 4.5 stars like we were! Do not send your loved one here! The aides are “too busy” to do their jobs. When you ask a question or inquire about something you’re looked at crazy like you’re “bothering them”! They have a button to push for help. Don’t bother pushing it for assistance because nobody ever comes! We found left over medication that should have been taken, in the room in the floor. Staff members have a problem if you actively visit your loved one and tell you that you are “hovering over them” and ask if we want someone to watch 24/7. Obviously if they are in a place such as this, that’s what you’re supposed to do right? You file complaints and no one ever follows up! You request to speak to the Director and he doesn’t follow up either. Instead he walks by daily and doesn’t say a word. Overall, we really thought this would be a good place for our loved one but we were fooled by the ratings. Apparently, their was someone else in charge that actually cared which is what allowed them to get these ratings but, they fired her. They say visitation is anytime but before 7am they won’t unlock the doors. They stand there and look at you through the camera and won’t unlock the door. Beware if your loved one can’t walk, they don’t watch them and they might end up in a wheel chair on their own that was left by their bed (definitely should not have been!) Thankfully we were able to get our loved one out without any harm done (that we know of!). I know it’s slim pickings when it comes to these places but, here is another one to avoid!
