Norfolk Health Care Center was really bad. They did not have enough staff. It was a disappointment. The facility was pretty old, which is fine. However, while my husband was there, there was only one working elevator for four flights of people. It's a four-story home. I don't think they take care of the facility. The elevators were broken for two months. If it was for a couple of days, I could understand, however, God forbid something happened when the elevators weren't working. Most of the staff cared about the patients. However, there was not enough staff, especially on the weekends. People have the same problems on the weekends as they have on the weekdays, so you need to have enough staff that will work on the weekends. The food was horrible. My husband never got hot food. It was all cold. He never participated in activities because they wouldn't get him in a wheelchair, get him up, and get him out, which bothered me. I wouldn't put my dog or my worst enemy in that place. They can hire enough staff to get the food to the patients when it's still hot. It may taste better if it is hot. They can hire enough staff so that the patients are taken care of with dignity because they can't get up and get into the bathroom.
