My father stayed in Wonder City Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, and I had to move him to another facility because it was not cleaned very well, and not kept up. The staff was friendly and courteous, but the place was very run down. They did not have the resources they needed to provide compassionate care or even hygienic clinic care from the day that he was transferred there. The decision was made to transfer him out the first time I walked into the place. I saw it, I gaffed, and I was just appalled. I never signed the admission papers, but it took almost a week to get him transferred out. It was like he was almost held hostage because of the bureaucracy of moving him from one facility to another. It was a horrible ordeal, but the people were compassionate and friendly. I have pictures, and I showed them what I observed on the day I was allowed to come in. It was a couple of hours after he was transferred there. When they saw the pictures, they didn't try to justify it. They put him in a dirty room. There were feces all over the toilet and on the floor. It looks like someone had diarrhea and had an accident in the bathroom. That was the bathroom that he was supposed to share with an adjoining room. The thing that was so appalling was that there was no one in the room adjoining next to him and he didn't have a roommate. So, I don't know how the bathroom got like that. I didn't file a complaint, but that was my intent. They went in and cleaned it, but they couldn't do anything about the fact that their facility was run down. It looks like there may have been flooding or something at the base of the furniture. It looks like termites have been eating it, but it's rusted out to where there are metal parts. I didn't taste their food, but my dad did. I don't think that food was poor, I don't remember that being an issue.

The structure is run down (i.e. holes in wall). Room lighting is a pull string that patient cannot always reach. Had to relocate to another room due to failure of overhead light. It would not turn off. No after hours maintenance. Food is fair for hospital food. Overall my relative is satisfied with nursing care. Issues are resolved quickly when reported. Entry to the facility is not controlled. There is a sign-up book but usually no one at the desk to enforce sign in. Doors are not locked at the stated time.
