My friend is currently in Meadow Brook Rehab and Nursing. We chose it because of the price, and because he felt comfortable there. It's an older facility, but it's very clean. The staff members are very friendly, very nice, and very helpful. I know he plays bingo and he goes to paint classes.

The price to move a loved one to Meadowbrook shouldn't be the reason to have them live there. The aids ignore the patients, call lights are left unattended for hours. One resident kept yelling for someone to come help her. The food is delivered to them cold instead of hot/warm. Instructions from family members are ignored, unless you're present to make sure it gets done. Whatever you do, find another facility. DO NOT leave your loved ones there.

This facility has many functions, along with rehabilitation and hospice, it also caters to residents with Alzheimer's. I'm intimately acquainted with a family who has a grandfather with Alzheimer's and who is a resident in this facility. I've even visited him a few times. It's a sad, difficult situation that the family's in, and leads inevitably to heartbreak. But I know that they feel comfort in knowing that he's taken care of so well in this facility. The nursing staff are exceptionally kind to them. They know the names of this resident's visitors and try to remind him of who they are when they come to visit. They are also very gentle to the family by helping them to come to terms and understand what's happening with their loved one. They are also very careful to protect this resident's dignity. He often doesn't know what he's doing but they are quick to put everything to rights with respect and love.
