We looked into Spjst Assisted Living Facility mainly because it's so close. It looked like a very good facility. However, they're very popular, so the waiting list is indefinite. It seems good. I have two good friends whose parents were there, and they both spoke highly of it. I talked to the administrator lady, who was super nice and helpful. It's private pay for assisted living, but we weren't looking at assisted living because my spouse is not eligible for that. They had a big gathering room where they had activities. They were hosting something that day and it looked like they were having fun. Everything appeared clean. I only dealt with one staff person, and she was great. She was the head honcho, so that speaks volumes.

This is based on an attempt to sign a lease for assisted living. We spent many weeks finding an affordable option for our mother. After not only touring, but agreeing on the exact apartment number and targeted move in date, we allowed an assessment of our mom. The nurse approved entry into the community, but said no rush, the unit will not become available for another 30 days. We were concerned and asked if we should make deposit, so as not to lose the opportunity to secure the apartment, and were told NO, we don't operate that way, just keep us updated. Within 5 business days, we asked to preview the lease and again suggested a deposit, we were then informed the unit had been leased to a current resident on a waiting list that we did not know existed. Summary- you are dealing with a nurse manager here on rentals and commercial business terms. She is not capable of doing both jobs. She is a nurse manager, not a leasing manager that abides by normal business acumen. Will not be back.

S.P.J.S.T. Assisted Living is a very nice place, but it's not for me. We moved back home because it was too restrictive. I felt like I was incarcerated. I can go any time and leave any time, but I have to sign out and sign in. They do exercises and there's a weight room. The food is good, but if I were to go to a restaurant, I wouldn't order that type of food. However, there's very healthy food with a lot of vegetables, it's just that you have to eat it when they say you have to eat it. Meals are served at 8:00, 12:00 and 5:00, and we had 30 minutes to show up.

I would give SPJST a ten. Our name has been on the list for two years. The waiting list is long. It is lovely and beautiful. The food is delicious. They have a one skilled nurse facility, and they are breaking ground for another one. I can't say anything bad about them. It's immaculate. I would recommend this place to others.
