My husband is at Ahava Healthcare of Clarksville. It is a large and nice nursing home. He was sent there from the VA Hospital and so far we've only been able to visit three times since he's been there in June because of COVID, but the staff has been very nice. I've seen the staff interact with the people and they're just as nice and sweet as they can be. The dining room is a very neat and clean-looking place. It's an older building but it's in good shape.

Ahava Healthcare in Clarksville TN is a terrible facility. They allow their patients to lay in their urine or feces for hours, after buttons are pushed for assistance, when family members are not there. When I was there visiting my Dad I had to go down to the nurses station for assistance for the restroom, after we waited for a 30 min period. There was always multiple workers at the nurses station ignore the call lights. My dad started getting up on his own, so he did not use the bathroom on himself, and fell 3 different times. The last time he fell, they told us there was a small abrasion on his arm, a few days later he came home and it was a massive abrasion, that was infected, as it did not look like the bandages were changed in days. They would lay urine socked clothing in the closet, not in a bag, but on top of clean clothes, soaking the clean clothes in the closet. My mother came to visit my dad one day and fell in the hall. They took an accident report, but we cannot get this report from them. We have asked twice and they say they have to get corporates permission to give that to us. Yet no one calls us back stating we can pick this up. One day when visiting, there was feces in the middle of the hallway. When we left 3-4 hours later, it was still there. I would highly discourage anyone from sending their loved one to this facility.

My mother is here. The food is the only thing she does not like, but she came from an assisted living place where it was different. It's the only nursing home I've ever been in that doesn't smell like urine when you walk in. They had a huge Christmas party for the residents where they handed out gifts. My mom is taken well cared of there. She is clean, and they are trying to keep her safe. I have been very impressed with them.

I think they give the best therapy in the whole world. When he got out of the hospital, he couldn't even hold his head up and within days they had him sit up in the wheelchair. The therapists there are really wonderful. They worked hard with him. The rooms are spacious enough. He has to have his food pureed; it's very good, and he enjoys it. This is the only VA qualified nursing home in Clarkesville and my husband is a retired military so he gets the VA benefit and that's a lot of help.
