My mom moved to Cedar Haven. She's only been there two weeks, but from what I've seen, we're satisfied. There seems to be quite a bit of staff. She does not seem like she's going to be neglected. Every question that we've asked has been answered to our satisfaction. The people that have been taking care of her seem happy in their jobs and they seem very willing to help us any time we've asked for anything. It's not the fanciest place we've visited or anything, but it's clean. It's more than adequate. It's like a decent place. I have looked at their schedule, and they do have quite a few activities both inside and outside the facility. Besides the out-of-pocket residents, they also accept Medicare and Medicaid patients.

Cedar Haven was really pretty. A lot of it was being renovated, but it was very nice and very clean. The cafeteria was nice. It looked really neat and well kept. The rooms were big for two people. The rooms were nice and spacious with their own bathrooms. The lady that gave us the tour, Crystal, was wonderful. She didn't care how long we took. She answered anything we wanted to know. I just thought she was very good at her job.

My father is in Cedar Haven. We have never been inside the building because of COVID, and we had to visit through a window. Outside, I had to stand in weeds, and ended up with bug bites all over my legs, so I left. The window was cracked because they had no telephone reception in the rooms. I couldn't really talk to him through the window. I was yelling, and he doesn't hear great. So they had to take him into the hall in order to talk to us. He was not happy there for quite a while, but now he's settled a little bit more, but he's four in a room. We had him on a waiting list for a more private room, but they keep saying they're full. One person there had COVID, so we can't visit him, so that extended it two weeks, then another nurse came down with COVID, so now it's another two weeks we can't visit. Our experience there hasn't been great. Some of the staff members are good to deal with, but at one point we were called and told that our dad's quarantine was extended two weeks because they took him away for a cardiogram, and none of us were told that they were taking him out for a cardiogram, so we called them and said, "Why was our dad taken out for a cardiogram?" and they said, "Well, we left you a message." Well, there's six of us, and nobody got a message, so we questioned them further and we found out they had put that in his file, and it wasn't even him, he never even left. I don't know who that staff member was. I have seen the courtyard area and a picnic area. It's a large land area, and my dad likes to watch the squirrels out his window. He said the food is good.

My aunt is on the fourth floor of Cedar Haven where it's locked because she has dementia. The nurses are very kind to all their patients and very helpful. If I see something that needs to be taken care of, they care of it right away. My aunt is happy with them and she's comfortable. I have nothing bad to say about it and I would recommend it to anybody that needs that kind of care. My aunt really likes their food and my uncle says it's good, too, so I think they're very satisfied with it. They have crafts, and sometimes they have plays and choirs by children from school for entertainment, so it's very nice. There are four people in a room because there are so many people who are in that kind of need.

I visited Cedar Haven. They have activities, sometimes they have entertainment, and they have puzzles. They're understaffed and they can't get enough people for Sunday services. The dining area is small, and the food leaves a lot to be desired half the time. It's not soft enough, and it's not that great. The outdoor area is nice.

Both of my great-grandparents were residents at Cedar Haven. The staff were mixed; some seemed to genuinely care about the residents, and made an effort to treat them with respect and make their lives better. The rest seemed only concerned with doing the minimum amount necessary and no more. This was especially apparent with feeding - if we weren't there to help, the food would often simply be placed by the bed, despite both of them needing assistance with eating. As well, the quality of medical care was distinctly sub par and hesitant - delays in treatment that exacerbated the underlying condition were common.

I visited Cedar Haven, a nursing home in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, several times to see older relatives. I have been at several facilities and this one is a lot better than most. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and will go out of their way to assist the patients with the things they need. From the nurses to the therapeutic staff, everyone is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that the patients are comfortable and well cared for. I observed a nurse trying to leave for the day stop and spend a half hour talking with a patient with dementia who was upset because she couldn't find her baby. In my experience very few facilities have staff that will take the time to do that, and not push it off on someone else. Cedar Haven houses patients for long-term care, short term care and they also have a wing for children with autism and other developmental disabilities. The facility and grounds are clean and well cared for. There is not that strong smell that is often associated with nursing homes. There is always something taking place to keep the patients entertained from arts and crafts to T.V. time to old movies. Overall it is a good facility for a loved one to be in.
