Wynwood House Personal Care Community

The fellow that owns Wynwood House is very nice. My aunt and uncle had been there, so I knew the place and I knew them well. The owner was actually willing to hold the room for me until we convinced my mother to move in. He was just so easy to deal with. The room was just right; it was absolutely fine. The size was fine too. You can have a bed, a dresser, a night table, two chairs, and a TV. They actually were re-painting and re-carpeting the room. They do have a lot of activities for people who want to participate. I saw people in the great room that they have for everybody. They take residents to doctors' appointments (they charge to do that if you can't). They have all sorts of recreational activities and they have somebody that comes in and plays the piano. It was very nice.

This community is located outside of state college in rural center hall. A well known farming community that is known for its wide open spaces and downright amazing scenery. The building this assisted living community is in is newly constructed and is beautiful. It seem that the nurses who work here are all just taking care of their parents. Everyone knew each other from before they ended up in this facility. I would not even call it a facility because it is just a big amazing house pretty much, its very clean and the up keep inside and around the property is immaculate.The grass is green and the folks are happy. It did not smell of harsh cleaners or foul odors. It was quiet a nice place to be and visit. The resident seemed right at home considering most of them spent their whole lives right down the street.I was just so happy to see these men and women doing so well and interacting with each other as if the were back at home.Everyone was very active and the staff made sure of that.

I thought this facility was pretty nice. Every time I went to visit my grandmother it was always very clean and everyone always seemed to be very well taken care of. The staff always seemed very friendly, but they were not always the most professional people. They often did not look very well put together and did not always act appropriately. From my understanding this nursing home is not a cheap place to live at, knowing that I do not think it is really anything special, but that is just my opinion. I think it is a nice place if you do not have anywhere else, but it would not be my first choice for someone I knew. I think there are too many people for the personal care that I believe the elderly need. That all being said I would rate it a seven on a scale of one to ten, ten being the best.
