"Juniper Village was comforting assisted place. They were all very professional and very friendly. It was a beautiful place. I liked the way the dining room was set up. It was a lot walking in the area for some people that might have a little bit of a problem walking, but the facility itself was very clean. It was very homey. They posted all the activities that they do, and I know they do outings. The rooms were beautiful. You could have a roommate, but there were a lot of singles, and those were what we were looking for. We saw a lot of single ones, and they were put together really well. I thought everything was great there. "

"Foxdale Village is run by the Quakers and it is also a not-for-profit place. I definitely decided I want to go to one of the numerous CCRCs operated by the Quakers. I have always liked the Friends' Society, so it makes sense for me to go to one of their facilities. The location of Foxdale Village is also convenient for me. I have one son who lives in State College and I'm trying to find a place that I like that can be close enough to my children, so they can come and visit me fairly regularly. Plus it is a lovely facility! They have lots of activities. Unfortunately they don't have a swimming pool, although I would still recommend this place. The staff is very nice. We got a lovely tour. As we were touring, I needed to stop and rest on one of their benches outside. While we're there resting, residents kept coming up and saying, "You need to come here, we really hope you come here, it's wonderful!" It wasn't a pre-arranged stuff and it was people who were walking by on their daily businesses, but everybody was very friendly and very happy with this place. "

"As far as the setup and everything, The Oaks at Pleasant Gap was nice. I think they offered some nice things like physical therapy. The lady who toured me around was great. It just seemed a little dingy to me, and a little bit older. There's nothing wrong with that. I think it would be nice for a lot of people. I just didn't have a good feeling for my father-in-law to be there."

"We toured Valley View Retirement Community, and it was excellent. It was an upscale facility. We looked at the cottages and it's like a 1-bedroom apartment with a 1-car garage. They looked very nice. When you buy, you are guaranteed a place for assisted living and the nursing home side even though you start in independent living. I saw their dining area and it looked like an upscale restaurant. There are tablecloths on the tables with dressings on them. The meals are delivered right where they sit. They have a large basement room just for activities. They do quilting, crafts, painting, and all kinds of stuff."

"Westminster was beautiful, spacious, and clean. The whole place was open, and the rooms were nice. They're private pay, and my mother is low income. They had wonderful staff and frequent activities. I saw a lady leading exercises. They had magazines and puzzles placed in different areas for people who wanted to participate."
