"Mt. Bachelor Assisted Living and Memory Care was smaller and provided true assisted living with nurses on floors and nurses available 24 hours. The person who did the tour was well-informed and understood what the care issues were. It was probably the nicest place I've seen."

"It was very nice. Deb was wonderful. I felt like we were sisters after I talked with her. She's a wonderful representative for that facility. The rooms were very nice. Everything was very clean. It was a smaller facility. That was my favorite one. They were all wonderful."

"Regency Village at Prineville. It's not really for me for a couple of reasons. It's more of an assisted living and not quite so much of an independent living, and the cost was astronomical for just an independent senior resident thing. It's an older facility and it's set up quite huge. It's very functional. For the assisted living residents that are there, it's probably very good. The only other concern that I had was that they were understaffed, but at this point, everybody's understaffed because of COVID. I saw one of the rooms and it was good. The only drawback again that I had on it was because it's for assisted living, there was no tub and the shower was open. It was just like on the floor. There was no lift or anything. It was meant for a wheelchair. Other than that, the room was quite adequate. There was a lot of storage and it was bright. They have a fantastic director for activities. She seemed very knowledgeable. She loved her job. There were a lot of activities, two or three of them each day. Looking at the monthly meal thing that she gave us, it seemed like they had some really good food that was offered. We didn't taste anything, but there was a lot of variety. For someone that was looking for an assisted living facility, it was very nice. They have stretching every morning, Bible studies, arts and crafts, bingo, a library, and board games. They also have a bus that takes them shopping or to their doctors' appointments and they have those scheduled like to Rite Aid or Bi-Mart. They also bring musical people in. They have a gentleman that was coming in to do a ukulele performance. They have movie nights. The activity director has done a lot as far as activities. The exterior could've used some help. It's an older facility, so for the age of it, it was adequate, but they are minus a maintenance person. They've got a pretty good staff. They seemed very nice and friendly. The nurses, the CNAs, and the lady who does the medicines were very nice. It's three stories and they have an elevator, so it's very nice to have the different levels and the different activity rooms on each level."

"Ashley Manor - Rimrock appears clean and well organized. It's a little small, but that's what they were looking for for my stepmom, so that's what we chose. The service has been fine. We do have one issue that's going on, but they are trying to address that for us. I've seen the residents do coloring sheets. Some of the residents enjoy it and some of them don't."

"Rooms are spacious, the staff are very personable and caring to all the residents. The meals are homemade, not from a box, and good size portions. The Activities person stays very involved with the residents and the activities are great."

"My mother-in-law is in Juniper Springs Senior Living. It's excellent. The staff is excellent and professional. If my mom would go to an assisted living place, I definitely would send her there. I have never tried their food. I just heard excellent things about their food. They have everything from assisted living to memory care and it's all really incredible. They have some independent living as well from my understanding. They have all kinds of activities. I've never been on their activities, but I've seen them. The activities director seems to definitely know what the elderly want. In comparison to the other places, they're definitely an excellent facility."

"Mom's been at Ashley Manor for about two months now. I like that it is a smaller facility. I know they have some private and semi-private rooms; they are not really a good size, though. They don't really have any activities there. They have an activity board, but they never do any of the activities. They have a great living room. Most of the staff has been very helpful. Just like in any place, there are a few people you like the best, but overall they have been good. They cook all the food in their own kitchen, so I am pleased with the meals overall. I'd say they are well-balanced. I think that they can improve by hiring more staff. I think their staff has too much to do to really engage the clients in very meaningful activities. They are working very hard, but they are busy just taking care of the basics. They really don't have a lot of enrichment. "

"I toured Awbrey Place Assisted Living and Memory Care. It's excellent. It's very good. It's pleasant. The rooms are nice and accommodating. They have nice windows, and you can look out there, meaning out in a nice backyard, and it's like in a circle. It's designed well. Expert staff and friendly staff. The rooms are handy with all the things you need in it (at least the one we picked), and it will be easy to access. There's plenty of activities going on so that my husband can make friends easily and be comfortable. The staff members are very qualified people who know what they're doing in all levels of care."

"My mom has moved into Cascades of Bend. It's good because she's near the hospital and all of her doctors, so that seems to work out best for her. Everybody recommended that place, and they seem to have very good facilities for her. When they first got my mother in there, they did some medical reviews and decided what was best for her. They decided she was in pretty good shape, so she didn't need a lot of care at this point. Her doctor was there within a few days to check on her and decided she had some chronic back pain, so she was going to get some therapy for that. So they're going to set that up for her. And then they also did some orthopedic and some nurse work on her. So immediately within the first week, they did a lot of medical reviews. My mother was having a little trouble walking at first, so they brought her food for the first week until she felt okay walking to the restaurant. But now she is walking down there. It's a nice restaurant. She likes the food a lot. Regarding activities, it seems like they've got some good athletic facilities for them. That's going to be good for her. They have some nice outdoor gardens, so she's going to start hopefully walking out there. They have a nice little library with a lot of books and a nice game room. They also have a memory care facility if my mother ever has to move to that, so that's another positive for her. She is having memory issues and forgets a lot of everything, so she may need that. My mother loves her room. She's got a nice room. It's small for her but it doesn't have a stove, which is great. She has a microwave and a small refrigerator, so that's good for her. She has a bedroom and a nice bathroom. The bathroom does have a sit-down seat, but she is able to stand up now and take showers. It looks like a very nice room for her, so she's happy now."

"Touchmark at Mount Bachelor Village was really good and nice. I loved the people there. They're lovely. I loved the location. I think the facility is beautiful, nice, and clean. There's nothing bad you can say about it. It's up to date. The staff is amazing. Everybody is just lovely. Liz is great. She's been there quite a while and she's wonderful. They had a bar. They had a lot of educational stuff and tours and so on and I think that's so wonderful. They also have stimulating lectures and great events. Nothing's demeaning. The club is close by. It's great and it doesn't smell."

"My Mom came from a horrible place to this business for the last 10 months of her life. She was happy, very well cared for and our family had quality time with her, until her passing in 2020. I can't say enough good about the owner. Honest to a fault, a fellow biker and a darn good human being all around!"

"The tour experience at East Cascade Retirement Community was good. The people seemed friendly. The facility seemed clean. From what we saw from the food that was being served, it looked like it was homemade and not processed stuff. We were there for 45 minutes, and from what we saw, we thought it looked pretty good. We looked at a studio and a one-bedroom. They covered all the assisted living services, like bathing, toileting, and dressing. It looked like they had a garden that you could plant. You could dine in your room, or you could dine in the dining room. They would tailor menus according to diet. They have activities. They have a bus that would take people to places if they needed to. There were a variety of things to choose from."
