The staff provides good care of my dad. He has lived at Miramont for 14 years. As his eyesight and hearing have declined, the care has increased. When he was able to be more active, he enjoyed the outings and activities Miramont organizes and provides. Staff and residents form a friendly community.

My mom is moving into Miramont Pointe. We chose it because it is equidistant to where I live, so I could just conveniently access her. But what was important to us was the assisted medical care she was going to be able to receive and continue to receive as she needed more. The ability to be in an independent care apartment but have nursing care brought in was very attractive to us for medical management. The physical facility was very well maintained, and there were sufficient people that were caring for it that we could witness. Operating elevators is a big deal, that became a deal breaker as far as her safety. They also have an operating swimming pool and an updated gym. Plus, they offer a three-meal plan for her. They also provide a pendant, like an in-house alert system. That was very attractive to us as a family. And they also have 24-hour support. The food was very satisfactory and the waitstaff was very helpful and attentive and didn't wait long to approach us. It was done very, very speedily. There were plenty of servers to help. You could request low sodium or no sodium and that's important for my mother. We work specifically with Toni, and she was very helpful. She gave us over an hour each time we visited and never made us feel rushed with any part of this process. She was very open about everything. It wasn't always that things were super-duper, and she was honest about everything. And we respect that. There's no expectation wherever we're going to find a perfect facility. But to find someone who could talk to us honestly about what we were looking at was greatly appreciated. This is a facility that had one or two vacancies only so they have many, many, many satisfied residents there.

I toured Miramont Pointe. It was too large for me. There was too much walking involved. I am not able to walk very, very far, and it was just too much walking for me. The staff who assisted me was good. The facility was very nice. They had a lot of activities there as well. They were modern and clean. The rooms were modern. They were very nice and had a lot of closet space.

My mother is well at Miramont Pointe, and she thinks it’s really great. Mother lives in a room, and it’s of good size and clean. She likes the food a lot.

My father-in-law is in Miramont Pointe now. I love everything about the facility. I love the rooms, which is why we picked it. They have a unique floor plan; they're not the same as all the rest we visited. They have tour buses that go all over several times a week, exercises classes, a gentlemen's club, a happy hour where they actually have a bar that they set up, and a Civil War game downstairs, so they have all sorts of activities. They have people come in to entertain, also. One thing that they could improve on is probably their communication between the nursing staff. I notice when I talk to one, it doesn't seem to get through to everybody else.

I am in Miramont Pointe, and it is a pretty high level place. This is not a standard assisted living place; it is licensed as a resident care facility. It is beautiful, and it is one of the better and nice looking ones in the area. I live in an apartment that is very nice, it is painted the way I want it to be painted, and it is lovely. There are five independent floors, one assisted living floor, and one memory care floor. We have beautiful outside gardens, and a wonderful dining room. The dining room is very much like a restaurant, and it is open from seven to seven. We can eat anytime we want, it is a full menu, and we can choose what we want.

The other one we visited was Miramont Pointe. It is an excellent place, but a little expensive. I have a cousin actually who just recently moved in, and they provide everything. You don't even have to walk out of the building if you don't want to because everything -- entertainment and everything -- is provided. They even had lined-up the chef to do cooking demonstration for whoever wanted to come and watch the cooking demonstration. And they had musicians that were coming in and playing. And it was a beautiful place. I would definitely rate it a 5+ except for the cost -- they were about twice as much as the others.

Miramont Pointe was brand new when I visited it. It is very clean and very nice. The food seems to be nice. I've heard that some people didn't like it. But I thought it was very good. As far as the price goes, I thought they are very expensive. I think the staff was knowledgeable, although they didn't seem to be quite as friendly as the other facility I've visited. I don't know anything that they have to improve. The rooms are very spacious, and they have a lot of choices.

The first reason we chose Miramont Pointe was the attention to detail that the personnel gave to mom and her needs. It provided up to five different levels of care for her, and I just felt they were very qualified to take care of her needs. The food is fabulous and the portions are appropriate for the residents. They are not huge portions, but they are not too small either; they are a good size. They do outings to like shopping, they go to some of the malls in the area, they might take some groups to one of the casinos nearby or go downtown to see the singing christmas tree, plays or symphony, and they have transportation for that. She did puzzles and bingo, and they have some card groups. The staff is so interested in the residents. The girl that toured the place with my mom and I followed up every couple of months until she actually moved in. They checked back with me to see how we think she is doing, if she needs more care, and they do this on a regular basis without it feeling like they are prying or being in the way. They genuinely care about the residents, and I love this place.

It was a nice tour at Miramont Pointe. The rooms were nice. The facility was very nice. It looked like they had more in the way of activities and facilities. The staff was very helpful. I liked best the layout, the upkeep, and the grounds.

Miramont Pointe was quite nice. The staff was friendly. However, the price was such that I don't think I could afford to live there.

Our experience with Miramont Pointe was a disaster even before moving in! Two days before move-in, while THEIR packers were there - they called in the late afternoon to say the move was off. They would not give an explanation, they would not meet face to face. After phone calls, fabrications and backpedaling, they offered an unacceptable alternative. The management at this time is not to be trusted. This has been a horrible, experience. They are not truthful and discriminate.
