My friend moved to The Arbors Assisted Living Center in Enid, and it was a good choice. It's nice and clean, and there are only 16 units. It's a few apartments, so it's like individual care. The food is really good, according to my friend. She's very happy with the people, and the assistants that work there are all very nice and seem to be caring. The manager is just so bubbly and fun, and she just makes it really welcoming for anybody who comes in. The upkeep is nice, and they have a little garden area out back and the front. It would be on the north side and on the south side of the building. They also have a sitting area, which is covered. They have nice, big windows in the rooms so residents can watch outside. The south side faces the street, and they can watch people go by and everything, and sit and talk. There's plenty of seating for residents there, and the facility is kept locked except for when residents are out there sitting, so that's a good safety factor. They have daily exercise sessions, card games, and board games for the residents. If a resident wants to walk out in the rear parking lot, they will go with them to make sure that they're safe. They just really bend over backwards to help. Every time I've been there, the staff have been great. They go into the rooms and ask the residents who are still in their rooms if there's anything they can do for them, or help them get to the dining area, or whatever they need. They're all really good, so I'm very pleased. I have not seen anybody mistreating anyone or anything like that. I have not tried their food, but they tell us that we can come and, with a little bit of notice, we can eat with my friend, or I can bring one of her other friends, and we can eat with her either at noon or in the evening. I think the value for money is pretty good. The price includes all your food, all your care, and the cable TV is free. I don't have the phone hooked up yet for her, but we will do that shortly. They have a doctor coming in once a month. She lives here in town. They also have another doctor, and I think they said that she's on call to them anytime they need her. She also comes in once a month to see anybody who needs to be seen or just check them over. I understand that nursing homes are a little bit higher priced because of more care required, but I was shocked when I found out that this place is $2,000 cheaper a month compared to other nursing homes.

My mother-in-law liked The Arbors at Stoneham because it's a warm and friendly place. They have congregate meals, games, discussion groups, and musical entertainment from outside. People will sometimes also come and give lectures about current topics.

The Arbors may be small in size, but they are huge in their skill, education, caring, love, and safety. The Arbors feels like home. Not a home away from home....but a real home. Great cooking, activities, entertainment, spiritual fulfillment, and constant tender loving care with a big dose of wisdom and medical knowledge. I am so impressed with the staff and especially the Administrator, Betty. The residents are her primary concern. Her expertise cannot be matched! Her beautiful facility is a reflection of her!

The staff at Arbors is very good. I'm very happy with it, and my mom is very happy. They sent me the medical forms that I needed to fill out prior to checking my mom in. It made it a lot easier because a lot of the paper work was done before I arrived with her. They did the check up on her very quickly. There were two different nurses that did that, and it went very smoothly. They were ready for our arrival. It is a smaller facility, which I prefer. It only has sixteen units in it. There are two different sizes of rooms there. My mom has the smaller room, and it is big enough for a chair, a bed, a TV stand, a lamp, and everything that she needs there. I ate a meal there, and it was very good. They do the baking and the cooking right there in the facility. They had a home-made cake, buns, and vegetables. It was a well-rounded meal. The dining room was very nice. They have five or six people at each table. They arrange them according to their ability to communicate with each other. I'm not fully aware of all activities, but they have bible devotionals, and they have a church pastor come in. There is a lady that comes in twice a month to play music for them. They also do Wheel of Fortune with them once a week. I like that they are very caring. Every time I talk to her, she will say that they are very good to her.

My grandfather was a resident of the facility for about a year before he passed away. The staff was very helpful, and always made sure that his needs were met. He had a very spacious room with a large window overlooking a pond with gorgeous scenery. In addition to the staff being helpful, they were also very friendly. The nurses would sit with my grandfather and just talk to him when his family couldn't be there. Overall, I would say this is an excellent assisted living facility.
