My aunt needed full care, so she is at Koester Pavilion. They take care of her by feeding her, taking her to the bathroom, and giving her showers. The caregivers are very nice; I like them. The cleanliness of the facility is OK. I tried their food and it's not really enticing. They have activities and stuff available, but she doesn't want to do it, and they can't make her do it. Her room is a shared room, and so she has a roommate.

The communication between each department from nurses, to front desk, to administration, to custodians, to the business office is horrific. The social worker was clueless, the food inedible. My mother fell there and I wish I had a picture to show you. At that point, went back to the hospital. Most probably suffered a small stroke because she could not communicate in a a way that could be understood. Bottom line, too many patients and not enough help. I could go on and on, however if you have a loved one there be diligent. If you want answers you"ll need to go find them yourself.

My cousin is now at Koester Pavilion. It's nice. They got flowers planted and it looks kept up. The inside is nice, too. The room my cousin was in for rehab was great, but the room she's in now, it's two people in a room, and it's too small for two people because they're both in wheelchairs. The only complaint I have about the staff is that they don't keep water in the rooms for them. My cousin and her roommate have to keep asking for ice water. The staff members I interact with are friendly, nice, and helpful. For activities, they have bingo three times a week and crafts every so often. Those are the two things I know my cousins interact with. The dining area looks nice when I go by. Sometimes they like the food and sometimes they don't. They can't have salt, so there's no seasoning in it. I think the cost is high. Compared to others, my cousin's room, it's not value for the money, not when you got two people and you're both paying the same price for it.

Koester Pavilion is a very nice place. They have nice staff and they provide very good services. They have a nice dining room, but mom takes her meals in her room. They have an activities room and they do exercises.

Mom was in the Alzheimer's unit in Koester Pavilion. She actually passed there about a year and a half ago. They had rehab there too. Their facilities were wonderful. I did eat there and their meals were good. Their caregivers and their attention to the patients were just top-notch. They kept them well engaged, their feeding was good, etc. I would give them a five-star plus rating because they were just absolutely excellent. They were very accommodating and got back with us very quickly on any problems that we had. They kept us informed and they were very good.
