My sister moved into Northwood Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. It seems a lot nicer. The nurses are nicer. She is already up on the parallel bars, so we have seen improvement. Her leg is getting movement back in it. I say the arm is always the last to come back, and so it is still iffy. It seems really nice. It's the first part of a little housing community. There are grocery stores and stuff beyond it, but the atmosphere there is quiet, calm, and inviting. Even people in wheelchairs sitting out in the halls say hi to you. They talk to you and everything. It seems really nice and clean. They have a separate dining room. They take her to rehab, and she was thrilled because she finally got a bath or shower. All these places she has been at, they never, ever gave her a bath or shower. Of course they sponge bath, but that was it. But she said it really felt good to be able to get a bath. Everyone I talked with seemed really nice. And if she needed anything, when a nurse and stuff came in, we mentioned it to them and they'd make sure she got it. It seems really good so far. The week before when I was there, they came in and cleaned the room while we were there. So it seems really clean compared to other places she's been.
