Laurels of Mt Vernon The

My mom was at The Laurels of Mt. Vernon for rehab. She was there twice. She had a stroke and then she was there for three months. Then she had the Covid, and she was there for rehab for another three months. The best part was the staff, and the residents were nice. The physical therapy was very good. However, like anywhere else, they're short-staffed. They had one nurse for every 20 to 25 residents. If my mom had to use the bathroom, the timing was terrible that the nurse would come, and sometimes they didn't come at all. They were too busy. They worked hard. I don't want to say anything bad about the staff, they just had too many residents. The food was terrible, too. They kept the building clean, but it wasn't very pretty. With regards to the room, they had a roommate and some of them could be obnoxious. Also, after my mom's Medicare ran out, she would have to pay privately, and it was way too expensive for what they offered.

The stay for my mother was very good the staff and friends she made there was marvelous l would recommend that nursing home to anyone

My dad was a guest in Mount Vernon he can be very trying on his best day, they was so good to him!! Before his stroke he was unsteady walking most times then after his therapy he was better than before he went there!! Nice caring staff!!

NEVER SEND ANYONE THAT YOU LOVE TO THIS PLACE THEY NEVER TOOK MY MOM TO THE BATHROOM SHE HAD ACCIDENTS A LOT WHICH CAUSED A UTI, SHE ENDED UP DYING WHEN ALL SHE WAS IN FOR WAS REHAB

The staff at The Laurels was very nice. They smiled, laughed a lot, and held conversations with the residents. It was a shared room. The food was good, and the dining area was clean. I liked the idea that they had a 24-hour food prep so if you got hungry at 2 o’clock in the morning, you could get a sandwich or nachos or pizza at any time of the day or night. They always had coffee and tea ready.

My dad was at the Laurels for 80 days, and the staff was excellent. The part that my dad was in was somewhat outdated, and the room was small, but the people were very good there. He had been there before, and the rehab program was very good there. It was also pretty clean, and I thought the food was fine. My dad said it was terrible, but I thought it tasted pretty good.
