"I had an in-person tour of the William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home. I liked the cleanliness and the fact that they had a full activity calendar so that even though he's suffering from dementia, he has an opportunity to do things. They also said that there are veterans who come out and volunteer and take the vet out on day trips, maybe to the mall or out to eat. They take them to a park or something like that. The activities and the cleanliness stood out to me. The staff members are all very nice as well and willing to help. They had multiple dining rooms, which I thought was good. They also had multiple places of worship for them."

"As we face the hardest transition in my mom’s care, Cornerstone Gardens has provided her with excellent care. My mom’s care is tough; the team works together to help her get better. James and Kathy are great nurses who have been more than happy to answer my questions and take time to call me as needed. Falyn from PT is super sweet to my mom. Rhonda, the social worker has been very helpful with providing me with info about mom’s plan of care and community resources. Ryan, the director is great too. The facility is very clean. "

"I was in Park Place Manor, and it was good. It was clean. The people that took care of me were good. I told them if I ever had to go back into one, that's where I would go. The only thing I had a problem with was the food, but I talked to the head of the kitchen and told him, "You need to do something about this" and they started fixing it. I was ambulatory. They had people that couldn't get out of bed. They had people that were in wheelchairs and they took them to the dining room and they had to feed them. They had all levels of care there. They take great care of their people. They have some things they need to improve, but they are trying. When I told them that, the kitchen started being better, we started getting better food and the care started getting better. I was in the rehab center for about three weeks. When I got there, I was getting cold food. When I left, we were getting hot food. I talked to the director, I said, "You have to go in there and eat what we eat. You need to tell your people when we ask for a shower, then give us one." They put us on a schedule because of the fact that they had so many of us. Since COVID, healthcare professionals are quitting work, and our healthcare professionals are working 12-hour shifts. They are doing a very good job having to work 12-hour shifts. We had all kinds of activities. We had exercises, games, and movie nights. The girls would come down and get us for physical activities. They had a room that was set up and they made sure we did our physical activity every day. I was in there because of a fall and they would walk me and get me to where I could walk better. By the time I got out of there, I was walking really well. They are the cleanest rehab center around here. They give you great value for the money that you have to pay. I met a lady when I was there, and she'd been there for two years. She got a great value for the money she had to pay. When she went in, she couldn't walk. She was stuck in the bed and every place else was trying to take everything that she made. After that, she was up and walking, she could dress herself, and take care of herself. There were a couple of other ladies that were going home about the same time I was. They went in and they couldn't do anything. When they left, they were able to take care of themselves and they were going to go home to family. The girls that work with you want to see you get well and be able to move and take care of yourself. The nurses are the same, they want you to take care of yourself and be able to do things."

"I Refuse to give them even one star. They have almost killed my mother for lack of oxygen an supervision. She has been verbally abused by the employees and physically abused by another resadent. Mind you she was only there for 4days. We are currently in search of a new place for her. They offer nothing but excuses to everything that happens there. "

"My father is at Creekside Terrace Rehabilitation. The staff is wonderful. However, they're extremely short-staffed, and he is not getting the proper amount of therapy weekly, which is what I don't care about the place, because they're still reporting that he is getting the care that he needs weekly. His room is very clean and kept clean. It's not welcoming in any way, but the shower and bathroom accommodations are wonderful. The bed mattress is a little thin. It's a nice facility and they keep the whole place very clean. The food is horrible, and my dad has lost 20 pounds since being there because he just doesn't eat. And I tasted it, too. It just wasn't good, but they do give you salt, pepper, and butter so you can kind of spice it up a little bit. "

"My dad just got in today at Indian Oaks Living Center and I am very impressed with it. It's beautiful, immaculately clean, and the staff is friendly. "

"The Rosewood was a huge place. It had a locked door but when you look inside, nobody was there at the entrance to let you in. We had to wait forever for somebody to take notice. My mom's friend complained that there weren’t enough nurses on staff. The place was new and looked nice, but it wasn’t fancy. It was a big open area because there was nobody around."

"Since my mom has a memory problem, we have chosen Westview Manor because they have locked areas where she stays, so that was the main thing. The room is just average. Some of the employees are really, really nice, and then some of them just don't talk to you hardly at all. I have not tried their food, but they don't look all that good. I would say they're average. However, the dining area is good. They usually eat in a big, open community area. It's always clean and everything looks nice. They have an outdoor courtyard that's enclosed, and they do lots of activities. They have bands and people come and sing for them. They play games and stuff, so it seems like they have a lot of activities. My mom has adjusted pretty well, so for her, it has been OK. We haven't been 100% satisfied with it, but it fits OK for us."

"My uncle was at Coral Rehabilitation and Nursing of McGregor. What I liked most was that they seemed more attentive to the patients. They were very friendly. They didn't have much entertainment for the people at the beginning. They had tables and chairs, and you could watch TV, and that was it. They had just opened it and that's all they had. They had a lot of private rooms. My uncle had a private room, and had more space than he does now. They were all attentive to him and very kind. They would stop by and say hi. They were on top of things. I never saw anybody fussing, complaining, or telling them to wait. It's an older building, but they kept it clean. And they were working on putting in a gathering place and working on fixing up the yard and the building and all that."

"We toured Killeen Nursing and Rehabilitation. They have an indoor courtyard inside and in the center of the building, which has a water fountain and whatnot. That was beautiful because it gave them the time outside and they could sit by the water fountain. They can talk and whatnot, but the one thing I did notice was that the dining area was so far away from the rooms. It was on the other side of the building. The rooms on one side, she had to go all the way around the building to get to the dining room or she'd have to go outside and cut across the courtyard. They have facilities for them if they want to do their own laundry. They did have a little area where they could cook their own food, not in their room, but in a little area like the rehabilitation area. They do have washers and they have a little stove in the kitchen area that they could do their own cooking, which kinda shocked me because if you're in a nursing home, why would you let somebody do their own cooking? But, the staff was friendly. The area seemed clean. They only showed us one room that they called the model room. They showed us the dining areas and the recreation areas. They didn't show us anything else. The person who did the tour could have been a little more friendly because she was a little curt. It's like we were taking up her time, but when you watched the interaction with the nurses and everything, it was okay. They seem to care about the patients."

"My mother was at Royal Manor nursing home before she passed away on July 26th. She was there for three years. I decided on this nursing home because it was just right down the street from my house at that time. She was there for a rehab but because she never really got any better, she just stayed there. It was an excellent facility. It was a wonderful place. My mom was in a semi-private room and everything about it was fine. Their staff was really caring. They're really nice. I was very happy with them. They did have activities for their patients, but unfortunately my mom didn't participate in any of them. Food was average. It wasn't wonderful. That was the only thing I was disappointed about this place. It could have been a little bit better. "

"I was sent Senior Care for rehab. I have been there twice and can't imagine I would go anywhere else. The staff took great care of me so I could come home and continue with life. Nursing staff is bar none. They would include my daughter in changes to my care or concerns. The facility is very nice and well maintained. I would refer anyone needing rehab or long term care to them. The Administrator and DON are very involved with the residents. They have an open door policy that allows your voice to be heard."
