"I was in Hillcrest before. I enjoyed it, but they weren't giving me my medicines right. I got into the high spectrum of my disorder and I talked constantly. I had 24-hour sitters. People would sit with me when I’m high to make sure that I was OK. I don’t realize when it happens sometimes. I stayed there for 21 days. My sister knew something was wrong, and she studied it up from the time I had my surgery till I was home. What happened was that when I was dismissed, Hillcrest got my medicines mixed up, and while I was there they got my medicines mixed up. That was why I had those ups and downs; mostly up as part of the disorder. So I went to the psychiatric hospital for a week, and they got my medicines all straightened out. The staff was great and really good. But I had a little trouble with the nurses' aides because they would gather in my room and talk about their jobs. So that was unpleasant. "

"My mother is doing rehab at St. Anthony's Care Center. They're great and the staff is very friendly. Everybody cares about what they're doing. They care about the patients, they're on target with everything they do, and they're on time with their care plans. Everybody's ready to give their reports. They're always on point with everything that my mom is scheduled for. Her room has plenty of space, and it meets her needs. The dining area is beautiful. They have exercises, arts and crafts, and Bingo."

"My friend is in The Brazos of Waco for a while. She is in rehab. It's a very beautiful place. It's new and very clean. However, I don't think they provide very good service to my friend, because she has told me that they're bad about doing her laundry and bad about getting their clothes back to her. They went for two weeks with three or four items of her clothing, and they never returned but one item. She also said that they don't supply the care she should be getting. Their therapy department doesn't work with her, as they should. They will just come in, get her out of bed, take her down to the therapy department and maybe work with her for about five minutes. They'll throw a ball back and forth to her and then determine that there's nothing they can do for her. I won't give them a high rating on taking care of people. My friend told me about the food and that it's not all that great. She said it's a lot of noodles and stuff like that. She doesn't think too highly of it. They have a pretty nice dining area, but she eats a lot there in her room that they have for her. Her room is pretty nice though. She said that they don't have a lot of activities like some of the other nursing homes that she had been in. The activities, at least on her part, are not all that great. They also charge more for their room rates than the other place does. I think they could improve if they would get better help and not use so many agency people because the agency people do not have concerns for their patients. And also, if they would work with families more. I've never talked to the administrator, and they've never reached out to me. The admitting lady, that is a liaison, she's very hard to get in touch with and talk to. They need to improve their staff, and the way they take care of people. They need to be more concerned. And on their therapy, they need to work with the people. I feel like they're just collecting the money and not doing their jobs correctly. "

"My mother was at Royal Manor nursing home before she passed away on July 26th. She was there for three years. I decided on this nursing home because it was just right down the street from my house at that time. She was there for a rehab but because she never really got any better, she just stayed there. It was an excellent facility. It was a wonderful place. My mom was in a semi-private room and everything about it was fine. Their staff was really caring. They're really nice. I was very happy with them. They did have activities for their patients, but unfortunately my mom didn't participate in any of them. Food was average. It wasn't wonderful. That was the only thing I was disappointed about this place. It could have been a little bit better. "

"My mother had been in two other nursing facilties, prior to coming to The Courtyard. I can honestly say that I am most impressed with the services that she has received here. She has been at The Courtyard for over a year now. I fully expected to have some transition issues when she first moved in. (That is just reality when moving to a new facility....it's an adjustment for everyone - the family, the patient, and the staff!) It did take some time for the staff to become familiar with her routine, but I will say that they have done a remarkable job. My mother has always been a woman who kept to herself, and in the two prior facilities she mostly stayed in her room (her preference). However, from the first day that she moved into The Courtyard, the staff has encouraged her to participate in activities, outings, and she even eats all of her meals in the dining room. She has literally become a social butterfly....and I love that. I especially love the fact that she gets to choose what she eats at every meal. They offer so many choices and the food is wonderful. I have eaten many meals there and never had a bad one. All in all, I would recommend this facility to anyone. It is very clean, the staff is friendly, and I never worry when I go home after my visits. I know that they will take good care of Momma. "

"My husband was in 5 different assisted living/nursing homes before finding Greenview Manor. The staff are helpful and he seems to be more content than he has been in the last 5 years. The staff notifies me of any problems and they do a review of his care plan about 4 times a year. The staff and I work together to get the best care for my husband. "

"During college, I volunteered with a local hospice, and many of the patients I visited (usually in the late afternoons) were located in this nursing home. The nurses were always very courteous, and the lady at the front desk was also pleasant. There was always someone manning the nurses' station, in the event that anyone needed assistance. The facility has TV rooms, a dining room, double suites, and private suites. The private suites consist of two single patient rooms connected to a shared living room. One problem was that they didn't always require you to sign in when entering the building. However, the center is in a good part of town, so patients don't have to worry so much about having their possessions or money stolen (But, in my opinion, you can never be too careful!). Overall, it is a very good facility; none of the patients I visited ever complained about how they were treated. "

"Awesome staff. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. On the few occasions that I have visited no matter the time or day the residents really seem to be engaged . Ms.Tammy does a great job with activities for the residents. The entire staff has proven helpful on several occasions. I would recommend this facility and staff to anyone seeking a great place for their love ones."

"Woodland Springs Nursing Center is in the center to town in Waco. It's great because it is near shops and Cameron Park, so there are places for outings for the residents. Woodland Springs offer rehabilitation services for its residents and one way they get the patients involved in their own rehabilition is through meals. There are a lot options. Patients can chose to eat in their rooms or in the dining room. Visitors are allowed to bring resident's favorite foods to Woodland Springs for them, as long as any diet restrictions are observed and the foods are in airtight containers. Also, residents can chose to eat the standard meal or can make requests for other items. Also, residents can go out to eat with friends and family as long as they check in and out. Choosing to eat in the dining room, means walking the halls to get there. Choosing off the dilay menu means reading and writing what the resident wants. Getting up, getting dressed and going out to eat, requires a multitude of physical and mental skills. One other thing I liked about visiting Woodland Springs is they allow visitors to bring pets to visit the residents. What a great idea! "

"My husband was at Ridgecrest Retirement and Healthcare and they were very good to him. His stay there was excellent, much better than the place he was in Houston. I told my son if he put me in the nursing home that he would send me back to Ridgecrest Retirement and Healthcare. It is a wonderful place. It's out on the edge of the woods, in the lake, and has a lot of animals that are from the woods that come to visit, especially in the winter. It's very low profile and the people are really nice. It's older, but it has a very, very warm atmosphere, and they took good care of my husband. They saved his life a couple of times and I like the care plan he had and the attention that he got. I saw their little directory of activities and they had quite a few. My husband didn't take part in many of them but they had them there. I met a lot of women that were going to all sorts of stuff."
