"I have put my parents at Consulate Health Care. I thought the staff to patient ratio was good. The location is good for me. They have a critical wound nurse which I had to have for my mom. The room is big enough for my parents. "

"I'm helping a neighbor of mine find a place for her and she is now in Standifer Place. It is a brand new facility. Everything there is brand new. It's a really nice place. It is clean and it smells good there. Residents can have their own individual apartments if they qualify for it. They go in and have a six-week assessment period. My neighbor has Alzheimer's and if she can't handle assisted living, then she would go to their skilled nursing facility where she would share a room with another patient. The staff is okay. They have nice employees working there that do care about their residents. They have lots of nice and organized activities. They even have a beauty parlor within the facility. I did see the menu and it looked wonderful. It looked like good stuff to eat. "

"My sister is at Soddy-daisy Health Care Center. She went there for rehab, and she is happy there. They've been very nice and very helpful on the phone, but as you well know with COVID, I don't know much about the place. She was transported up for rehab, and like I said, she is happy there, and I really did not see any point in trying to find someplace else because I can't go in looking. I can't go in to see anything. I have not seen it up there. It is just really strange, but she is happy. The outside looks nice; it looks like the website. It looks very clean, neat, and well kept. As far as I am concerned, they have done everything they need to do. When I have more involvement, it might change somewhat. But I don't think so because they keep me informed. What I saw of the inside looks bright, clean, and neat. I did walk in the front door before they reminded me of COVID and shooed me out, which was perfectly understandable."

"My mother is placed in NHC HealthCare, Athens. It's all right. They won't let you in there because of the coronavirus, but I talked to my mom through the window and what I saw was that everything's clean inside there. I went in the front upstairs to talk to the staff when I got her put in, and everybody was real nice. She eats their food. It's expensive though."

"I was visiting the facility, because my great aunt was beginning her stay there. I had heard some horror stories about what can happen at assisted living facilities, so I was a little skeptical. However, when I saw the facility, the staff, and the residents, I was very surprised. At first glance you could tell the facility was clean and well taken care of. Then you could tell all the patients were as happy as could be. The staff was friendly and you could tell they had experience in this field. The facility was a fairly large size, and my great aunt liked to roam around a lot, so I knew she would never get bored here. All-in-all I would surely recommend this facility to anyone needing a place for their elderly family members, and give it five stars. "

"Life Care Center of Rhea County is a new facility with very large window spaces that let lots of light into the rooms. It was very clean. I am already familiar with Life Care services because Mom came from another Life Care facility, so it was an easy transfer. They have daily activities and church on Sundays. The people are kind, and the workers are conscientious and mature. "

"My mom stayed in the St. Barnabas Nursing Home after a fall and emergency surgery. At first, I wasn't sure what to think about St. Barnbas Nursing Home. My mom did not seem to be getting better, and I wasn't sure if she was getting the attention she needed. I think at the time, they may have been a little under-staffed on CNAs. But once the nursing staff realized there was a problem and that my mom was going to need a little special attention, they did a marvelous job. Every nurse I talked to about her gave me detailed reports on her condition and asked questions about her so that they could better meet her needs. The building is a beautiful, light-filled modern building that almost never smelled like a nursing home. It's location right by Erlanger hospital is good, too. But it is the caring nurses and staff at St. Barnabas who I think made a difference in my mother's recovery. "

"I thought my tour at Laurelbrook Nursing Home was nice. The staff brought me into several parts of the nursing home. They have activity rooms. It's very large. They have lots of space so people can be in different spaces. Also, they have the eating space centrally located as you walk in. Down the hall, I noticed there were some game rooms and art rooms. They had a nice deck out back that overlooks the woods, which was nice. They were way in the country. There was no danger of residents walking in the road because a driveway went pretty far into the nursing home. I thought that was good for people because residents could sit outside on the deck but not feel like they would get wandering anywhere. It was kind of a locked-down facility. The other thing I noticed was, it wasn't updated. I think they needed quite a few repairs in the facility. I'm sure the older people don't care, but when you come to visit, it seems like the furniture was a little bit grungy to me. I felt like it was a little not super clean, not dirty, but I would say grungy or old. The lady was nice and told me she could put me on the waiting list, too. But she said somebody has to leave or die. They were full. They have several people on the list and the rate is $9,000, but they do take government aid. My dad would have to go on government aid to go there. The administrator was quite friendly and nice and took a lot of time. They had several little rooms; they weren't big, but several little areas. They showed me an art room where they do crafts and art. It seemed like they had a lot going for the residents, but it didn't seem like all the residents participated because it seemed like a small area."

"Life Care Center did great, they took care of my in-law and the staff was good. The room was nice with another bed where my wife and her sister could sleep on as they stayed there too, taking turns. They had people come in for music, church services, bingo and a board where different activities were posted. If you ask questions, they will come in and answer all your questions. I would recommend the facility as I thought they were great, even after she passed, they contacted us. "
