"My mom was discharged from a rehab at Garden Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. They took good care of her, and the staff was very well trained in customer service. They were patient oriented. They were really good. The staff is what makes the facility. It's not the most up-to-date, and it's not the best location. The staff was phenomenal, and really, at the end of the day, that's who delivers the patient care. The food was terrible. My mom went to a Bible study. They took her out to lunch one day. They had bingo. They had stuff for them to do. Between Medicare and her private insurance, they took care of everything except for the private room. We paid extra for the private room, and it definitely was worth it."

"My mother has been in this facility for about nine months now. She is an Alzheimer’s patient, and she has adjusted really well. If I have a concern about anything, I let them know and they address it quickly. The staff are all friendly and helpful. I’m pleased with the care that my mother is receiving. "My dad has been in this home for less than a year. He had a difficult time adjusting at first, but the members of the staff were patient and dealt effectively with his aggression and his persistent pacing. He lost quite a bit of weight at first, but he is on some new medications that have increased appetite as a side effect. He is doing so much better, and the family is much more settled with his care and current condition. The staff there with only one exception is patient, diligent, and thorough. The one exception is loud, impatient, and snappy. I like to be there when she is not there. There is a doctor on staff full time and this brings great peace of mind. I know my dad is in good hands and is receiving appropriate care. "

"My stay there was for rehabilitation of a hip injury Overall the facility gave great service But the regular staff needed to go to a school to work on their attitude, and that’s a nice way of putting it. Like all medical facilities, they are understaffed and work too many hours and not enough help "

"The Glen Retirement System consists of 3 different facilities. Each one is run independently of the other. I have visited with each of the facilities and have found all of the staff to be as personable and caring as the other. The security guards are especially personable, knowledgeable and caring. They are all the most wonderful group of people. I am excited to have my elderly parent be a part of the facility. "

"My father has moved into Riverview Care Center. I haven't actually visited it yet. We are doing all of these long distance, and I don't know if it's going to be his permanent place or not. We are trying to get him stabilized and get a sense of what his long-term needs are going to be, but I feel like it's a good place. They have been responsive and cooperative. They have done a good job communicating with us. My father has been very positive about it. He tells me how kind the staff is and how responsive everybody is. He has definitely been singing their praises, so we feel good. We feel like he is in a good, safe place, that's why we're pushing to have him be there. The staff has been very helpful, very responsive, and communicative, which is good because we're long distance. My father likes it. He obviously would like to move closer to one of us, my sister or myself, but right now he just has immediate needs that need to be met. He is content, that part is very positive, so I would say good things about them. They have been great. They have been really, really good, and especially helpful navigating Medicaid, Medicare, and all of that. A lot of the activities have been curtailed, obviously, because of COVID restrictions. However, I believe they are just now starting those. I don't know what they are, but somebody calls weekly just to give general updates. I call them if I need something with a specific person, but usually the same person calls every Friday just to talk about how he has done. They're continuing to be a COVID-free facility, so that's comforting, too."

"I would definitely recommend Colonial Oaks Guest Care. The place is very clean. We haven't had any negative feedback from my father at all. The staff is really good. They have aides on every hall and they're right out in the hall from his room. They're very nice to him. The food is excellent. I ate there the other day with my father. "

"A friend of ours is at The Bradford Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation and she spoke highly of it. It was clean and what I liked about it was that it was small. It wasn't one big corporate type. It was like a family and with Alzheimer's, my husband doesn't need some big place where he would get lost in. The lady who gave me the tour was sweet and caring. They had a little workout room, a little library room, and an office/computer room. The room my friend was in was clean, but they are the ones who keep it clean and they're allowed to decorate it themselves. The dining area was easy to get around."

"My husband is in Heritage Manor, and it is very nice. The dining room is fine, and the food was OK. It was clean, new, and nice. "

"I visited my mom's friend at Pilgrim Manor Skilled Nursing regularly. I thought it was a nice place. The staff, from what I could see, was friendly and caring. This was before COVID, and they had activities for the residents, which I actually took part in. The people that I interacted with there, my mom's friend, her roommate, and the people she befriended, seemed to be in good spirit most of the time. They seemed to get good care, I thought, as a nursing home could. She was there the end of 2019 and went to the hospital right after New Year's in 2020. Then, she got pneumonia or something and she passed away. I did not try their food. Her one complaint was the food, so I brought her little treats or whatever and we were trying to put a little bit of weight on her. I thought she looked frail, but she had osteoporosis and all that. I thought the rooms were fine. She shared a room, and they had everything she would need. They had a television, a chair and a bathroom. It seemed clean. I thought she was cared for. "

"Heritage Manor South is close to my house. They said they've been taking care of my mother, but she's just been there for two weeks and is still new. The staff that I ran into and talked to was great. Considering that she's in total bed arrest and it's COVID time, we could only go to the office and the grounds. She has a nice, large private room, and it does not smell."

"I'm in Heritage Manor of Bossier right now. They have the most caring people in the world. As for the rooms, it's like living in a bomb shelter, actually. It has concrete-block walls, and it's about ten feet by twenty feet. There are two people to a room, but I'm fortunate right now to be living all by myself here. The food is awful. The dining room is large, and we currently are unable to use it, but it's coming back quickly with this COVID thing. We get to play bingo twice a week sometimes. The atmosphere is fine, but it's a nursing home, so there's no way it could be homey."
