"My mother is in Pekin Manor, and for the value I'd say they are excellent. She was in the bounce-back program and the physical therapy is very good. The staff is very attentive to the needs of anybody that's there. The living quarters are adequate. I have been there when she was eating, and the food looks good. The community is a little older, and has been there a long time. It's skilled nursing so there's a lot of therapy twice a day. As far as activities, they have people who come in and sing, and things like that."

"They have been kind to my husband at Timber Creek Rehab and Healthcare Center. He is progressing slowly. They were nice to him. Sometimes, they are not really quick about answering calls. They are shorthanded. They need to hire more people, and it looks kind of run down like it needs some repair and refurbishing. "

"Hallmark House Nursing Center is very good. They are well trained and take good care of their patients. My friend is in a clean, shared room. The food is OK. "

Just wanted to let everyone know this facility is not even close to the past. Some new nursing staff and to the kitchen food is 100% better. .Also I really could not of gotten more help anywhere. "My brother is at Liberty Village of Peoria. It has a basic layout for the skilled nursing facility. It has long hallways with individual rooms, which look like you're in a hotel. The rooms are quite big. In the skilled nursing area, there are 2 people in a room, but each room is 32 feet long by 16 feet wide. So, it gives each resident a little bit of space on his own. Their rehab facility seems very well educated and most of the people there are kind and caring. They seem to have fun with the residents. Those who need help feeding themselves seem to be taken care of. I've been going out there almost every day and I go out at lunchtime, so the food looks pretty good. I haven't sampled it, but I watch most of the residents eat and they seem to be enjoying themselves. The desserts look especially good. My brother mingles with the people who can go down to the lounge, and they have little activities there like games, but there was not a lot to do on the skilled nursing side."

"My sister is now in Rosewood Care Center. I feel that she is getting an excellent care. They are on top on every single problem that occurs. Yesterday, they had a 60-day care plan meeting, and since I live up here in Chicago area, I am on speakerphone, so I am part of the meeting. I think I the staff and the facility are excellent. They have a lot of activities. My sister only goes once in a great while, not often, but when she does, she tells me she has a wonderful time. They have bingo. She tells me she is stringing Cheerios and Fruit Loops on this little wired thing, and they are going to put them out for the birds, because for each room, they have a bird feeder, so they can watch the birds. She likes doing that. She says she is doing it with some music playing. They are talking about the music. They have a party -- I think she calls it a Halloween Party -- but it is after dinner last Friday. From what I understand from the CNAs, she participates in singing. They have a van that will take her to any kind of doctor's appointment. My sister is in a wheelchair and has had a stroke, so her whole left side is affected. Then, she falls and breaks her arm in two places, so she is not really mobile. My sister-in-law will prefer her to go in the van, and then my sister-in-law drives and meets her at the doctors. Then, they put her back to the van and bring her back to Rosewood. They have a podiatrist that comes in once a month. She is very happy there. "

"My husband is staying at Accolade Healthcare of Peoria. The facility is very clean and friendly. They provide great care. They have wonderful staff members and kind nurses. My husband has a humongous private room. Their semi-private rooms are very nice, too. He had a wonderful roommate when he was there before. They have activities. They have a physical therapist and an occupational therapist, and they are very good. I see a lot of people in the activity room playing cards and doing puzzles."

"ATTENTION Do not put your loved ones in this facility. My family had to send my grandmother there and the amount of negligence made my decide to quit my job at a local hospital to take care of her!!!! The staff is rude and very inappropriate "

"Lutheran Hillside Village is a fantastic facility and is obviously spiritually-based with a Lutheran background. It’s a large facility that has everything from independent living, to assisted living, to memory care, to nursing. My mother moved from independent to memory care, and my stepfather moved from independent to assisted to nursing, and I'm very pleased. I love the continuum of care. The facility and the staff are outstanding. My mother and stepfather have been very happy. In memory care, there are activities every day, and on Fridays, they take a bus trip somewhere. When they were in independent living they took them to a basketball game, they took them to local health club every day if they wanted to go, and they had outings several times. It's a very active community and it's a good value. It's a higher end home, which is why it's more expensive than others, but the care is better."

"I toured Apostolic Christian Skylines. It was beautiful scenery. It was not too far outside of town, but it was away from everything. My problem with it was the cost. It was more on the pricey side. Other than that, it was a great place. I like the menu and all that they have to offer. The room was nice. However, for what my father was trying to bring (He's a packrat and he was trying to bring too much), it would have been a little tight. It is ample space for what you need in there. Overall, if I could afford it, it would have been a perfect place. The staff members were very helpful. There were no dumb questions. I didn't feel stupid. No question was illiterate to them. The staff was really friendly. The facility got a little confusing, not so much for me, but my father."

"This facility is now Cornerstone. It is absolutely horrible, nothing more than a glorified dog kennel. Our family is in the process of moving our loved one to another facility. When it was St. Clare Home we were very happy with the care our loved one was provided but once Peterson Corporation took over they have absolutely run it and the staff into the ground. They have a continual turnover in staff and rely on agency help, who don't even know the residents' names. A truly sad situation. "

"The Knox County Nursing Home staff interacts well with residents and their families. There are activities and outings for the residents to enjoy. Many visitors frequent the nursing home to provide entertainment for the residents. The facility itself is nicely decorated and the rooms are nicely sized. It also has a large dining area. Knox County Nursing Home is a rather large facility compared to other facilities in the area. It has an incredibly large yard and sits at the edge of town away from traffic in a very peaceful spot.The bad news about this facility is that the staff to resident ratio does not allow much individual time with the residents. This hinders the ability of available staff to provide attentive and proper care to the residents. This may direclty relate to Knox County Nursing home having had multiple deficiencies in 2011. A total of 16 deficiencies ranging from "potential for minimal harm" to "actual harm" were cited. There is one other rather disturbing fact about this nursing home. It happens to sit directly across the street from a cemetary. This may not be the best inspiration to the residents of the facility. "
