"Mills Peninsula Extended Care Center was a assisted living facility I visited while searching for volunteering opportunities. The facility itself is very clean and tidy. The residents seemed content and satisfied living there. The staff was kind and attentive to the residents and visitors. There were activities for all the residents to do to keep them entertained. Volunteers at the extended care center were helpful and quick with their duties. The rooms of the residents seemed decently sized and comfortable. Each had its own restroom. There was a recreation room that had a large television so the residents could watch football games and movies at their request. The staff members engaged in numerous activities involving the residents such as painting and playing cards. Additionally, they also decorated the entire facility for Halloween quite nicely. The people working at the front desk were also quick to respond to the requests of residents. "

"I used to visit this facility for community service purposes when I was in school. My friends and family and I would make decorations, cards, gifts, etc... and deliver them to the nursing/old folks patients at Magnolia Gardens. We would also spend a few hours talking and conversing with the patients or taking light walks with them or helping them with their medications or watching television with them. I enjoyed going here, the old folks were very interesting and had a cultivated opinion and zest for life. They taught me a lot about a variety of things. And not only did i feel good about helping them and brightening their day, but I also felt good as I knew I was giving back to the to the community and doing my job as an American Citizen. "

"I visited facility several times. Staff immediately approached me smiling and offered help. Facility is very clean and patients look very happy. I asked one of the patient if she likes the place and she replied it's the best nursing home in the area. I was convinced after I was given a tour of the facility, that place is very well managed, owners care about their residents and employees. "

"The staff, amenities, and facilities were great. It was split up into 3 sections: assisted living, retired living, and hospital environment living. All were great. The retired living were a bit small, but it was nice to see that the citizens had friends to be with. Overall, I would probably be willing to live there after retirement. "

"My wife was in Linda Mar Rehabilitation for 2 weeks. The one I liked best was the location. The staff are very young and very happy. My wife liked the food. They have a gym, and the place is clean. It's a good place."

"They have good daily activities like entertainment and crafts at Seton. The staff is friendly and busy. They get to know everybody there because they consider everybody a resident. My mom shares a room with other people. The room is like that of a hospital room, but nicer. The facility makes a good effort at making the food nutritious. For thanksgiving, they had roasted turkey, cranberry, and all the fixings for everybody. I would recommend this facility to others. I think it would be helpful if every resident gets iron-on or sewn-on tags. That would be really cool. "

"I like the facility's individualized care plan for their residents meaning everyone has different cases, different situations which they have their own needs that requires specific care. "

"The rooms are clean, it can get a little crowded, with all the equipment needed to take care of the patients. The staff were efficient and friendly. They were very helpful and forthright."

"My mom is in St. Francis Convalescent Pavilion. It’s good. They’re very attentive, nice people. The layout is good. The rooms are big and clean."

"My grandmother stayed at St Francis Heights Convalescent. It was clean for the most part, and the management was pretty responsive. The social work department seemed understaffed. The rooms are pretty small, so it’s hard to navigate with a wheelchair. The physical therapy department was pretty good, the cost was OK, and it was reasonable for what you're provided. Some of the nurses weren't that friendly, and when I needed an update on how my grandmother's doing, they'd just say, "She's fine." They should be specific other than "She's fine." It would help if the staff is friendlier, especially for the family. "

"DO NOT EVER SEND ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT TO THIS DIVE! Talk about neglect. These people are incompetent, rude, uncaring, and change the hospital doctor's plans in order to keep the patients there longer. We pulled my Mom out of there after 4 days. They lost her clothing, left her sitting on the side of her bed with a diaper around her ankles, took away her walker when she was supposed to have physical therapy specifically to walk more. When her or roommate would ring the bell to go to the restroom, they would yell at them and say they were busy so quit ringing the bell. They would rather have them in diapers than do their job. My Mom arrived being able to communicate and left there with severe signs of a stroke. She could not feed herself or talk coherently. They had not even noticed and said she was "fine" and doing "better". They had no idea. It was a filthy, loud facility and they took her nice bed and gave her a mattress about 2 inches thick. This place should be shut down. "
