"The Covington was clean and beautiful. We ate there and the food was extraordinarily good. The young people they had in the dining room were gracious and kind. They rooms were well planned. In the two units that we visited, the space was utilized very well. It had everything that a person could wish for, if they could afford it. "

"Palm Terrace Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center was a very nice facility. They had very nice grounds and very nice staff. I think they had cafeteria style food. The rooms were small, and they were not as quaint in decorations, but the facility was nice and decorated. I found this to be more structured and hospitalized. "

"I don't know if the facility has improved since my mother was discharged, however during the months of July 2010 until December 2010 I witnessed the quality of care decline. My understanding is, due to the recession, the facility reduced staff. Also, the contract that is signed upon admission states that you should not be concerned with retribution for concerns brought to their attention. However, management dealt with all staff issues by just banning that staff member from being in contact with the patient. So staff who can assist the patient becomes limited. "

"My mom is at Lake Forest Nursing Center. It is nice. I like it and have no complaints. Everybody is wonderful there. My mom is immobile and not really eating. She is receiving hospice care there. She likes to draw sometimes if her hands are working. I know they do all kinds of activities because when I walked through, I saw them doing them. They do bingo, and they go out. Lake Forest Nursing Center is very big. They have rehab for people temporarily rehabbing from the hospital, and long-term care. The room is clean. Everybody there is nice. It is quite pricey, but my mom has Medicare now because she is on hospice."

"I had surgery I had to return to the ER/hospital for 5 days I was in another facility which did not care for me properly. I switched to FLAGSHIP and was delighted. They ALL were caring and professional. I trusted them. The ratio of patient vs nurse/staff was perfect. I will be going there again in June after a hip replacement."

"My father was at Newport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for rehabilitation. I think that was maybe two years or three years ago. The entrance was fine, but my father stayed in a two-person room. It was a bed; it was basic. But I thought the staff seemed friendly, and I was pleased to see that there were activities happening. They had a central room for crafts and games, which I thought was really nice. They were encouraging my dad to do better, and he did get better. I had a turkey sandwich or something there, and it was good. The biggest criticism I have of skilled nursing facilities is that the rooms are just so minimalist. It's a bed and a TV. You wish to have just a little more space, so it feels less institutional. Some plants would be nice, and maybe some artwork on the walls or something. I think my father's Medicare paid for most of his stay there."

"I stayed in Crystal Cove Care Center. Their service was very good. They were very friendly. They're excellent physical therapy and occupational therapy people. The food was OK. I was there a couple of days ago. I hurt my back, but it was all better. The reason I stayed there is because I didn't have any place to go, but I got someplace to go now."

"I want to share my positive experience with Newport Subacute Healthcare Center. My mother has been living in this facility for almost three years. Initially, the facility faced several challenges, and the previous management did not put in the effort to address and fix problems. Their approach was often dismissive, and they failed to make necessary improvements. One manager, Michael, was doing a good job, but in my opinion, the team was not well-organized to fix any problems. He had to handle everything alone, which made it difficult to improve the facility. During this time, I visited my mother every day to ensure she had enough water, liquids, and nutrients in her food, was clean, and safe. I closely supervised her care because I was concerned about the quality of service. However, since the new Director of Nursing, Shirin, took over, there has been a remarkable transformation. She has been instrumental in addressing issues, improving scheduling, and training the nursing staff effectively. Her strong leadership and dedication have significantly enhanced the quality of care and the overall atmosphere of the facility. Now, I feel much more comfortable and confident that my mother is well taken care of. Many residents, including my mother, have noticed these positive changes and are much happier now. The doctors, registered nurses, LVNs, CNAs, treatment nurses, and facilities maintenance team all work well together as a team under the new management system. Shirin is intelligent, hardworking, and truly committed to solving problems and making the facility a better place for everyone. The facility has become very welcoming and warm, although there is still a long way to go to fix every problem. Considering she has only been in the role for three months; the improvements are impressive. I believe that within a year or less, this facility will be the best in Orange County. I highly recommend Newport Subacute Healthcare Center now and commend Shirin, Michael and all the facility employees for their outstanding efforts in driving these improvements."

"My father is living at Victoria. I just couldn't find another form of emailing in a compliment. The social worker there, Lisa, is a doll. I have to tell you that my dad was at five other facilities prior. All nightmares in my oppinion. Lisa has been a God send and made his life so much better that he is much much more alert adn healthy! Before, he refused to even speak. Now, he is happy and so are we! Please know that Lisa does and gives more than any other social worker I have experienced. Also, there are a few others I want to compliment, the secretary up front: Victoria, a couple of nurses on station two: Ramone and Daryl, and I forgot the activity workers name, but it is the cute tall slender blonde girl. She is a wonderul caring person. She was so great at the Christmas party. Lisa the social worker pitched in two that night. i couldn't be happier than I am with this facility. I tell everyone. "

"Although this place needs a good face lift, the people here are so nice & caring. Not only for your loved one you place here but also for you. The Dr even called me up directly at home to talk about my Father's condition. He spent over an hour on the phone with me, that has never happened. Dad didn't like the food however... "

"This is a 135 Bed acute care Nursing Killed Hospital for seniors. They are well staffed by true well educated professionals. All are attentive and most of all compassionate. The facility is very clean and sterile; housekeeping is on the floors 24/7 to keep all areas clean and sterile for the patients, staff and visitors. The patients are well cared for most are in acute states and are not alert or aware of their surrounding due to their conditions but staff is stellar in the care of each patient in their charge. The rooms are average hospital rooms with hospital beds but they are well decorated and so are the common areas. The food is based on diet but seems to be healthy and well planned menus. If a loved one needs Skilled Nursing Care this is the place to look to. They are professional to the highest degree. 10 out of 5 stars you will not be sorry you choose this facility. "

"My Grandmother spent a few days in this facility after leaving the hospital and it was not a good experience. The facility itself is clean and presents a nice image. However it's all about the care provided and that is where it is sorely lacking. Doctors orders were not followed correctly and this led to a setback in my Grandmothers health and after being there for a few days her condition worsened. Much of the staff had a difficult time communicating with us due to language issues. There were many issues which led us to believe that things were not being done correctly nor attentively. We attempted to talk with the managerial staff and our concerns were not received well. We instead were met with an attitude that was not responsive to our concerns so we decided to immediately arrange for our Grandmother to be transported to another facility where she thrived and was home within a few days. From past experience with other family members in many other facilities we knew what to expect from a nursing home and knew that this nursing home was not providing what it should be. "

"She stayed in Country Villa for three weeks. The stay was OK. It was good. There was nothing much you could do except stay in bed, but to me it was good, and they were very nice. It is an old facility, and it could be updated. The room she got is a regular room, and it is OK. The staff is very nice, although sometimes when she pushed to get help, they don't respond right away. I think it is because they don't have enough staff in place. They have activities over there like bingo and church. They have certain things going on. I only attended the bingo while my mother-in-law really likes the church. She only attended the bingo once, and they never took her back in the three weeks she was there. I think she needed to say something. She didn't care for the food at all. "

"At Royale Health Care Center my father was admitted under the hospice program. There he spent the last few days of his life. The personnel at Royale insured my father was comfortable and free of pain at all times. The night he passed one of the nurses stayed by his side at all times until the end. We never asked him to he did it because he wanted to. You could tell he cared and was concerned about my father being as comfortable as possible. The moment my father passed I knew he was free of pain and that allowed me to accept his loss comfortably not painfully. All the support Royale Health Care Center gave us and the care they provided for my father is un repayable. They took on the stress of all the health care issues and allowed us to spend the last days of my father's life by his side without worries. "
