"Aegis of Laguna Niguel is a beautiful facility from the outside, and it had very nice common areas that were tastefully decorated. It seemed like there was quite a bit of activity going on, and it was in a nice location. The rooms weren't up to par, but they were OK."

"The Orchards Health Center was fine. Everything was really, really nice. One of the reasons that I didn't go with that is because I wanted to still be able to come back home, but it's more difficult for me in my wheelchair. I have an outdoor wheelchair that has a range of about 20 miles. I can get over there, no problem. However, I have to go over and cross underneath the highway, and to get up into the drive and everything, you have to go on to the actual street itself, and I just didn't really think that would be something I would like to do regularly. The place was nice. I didn't eat there or anything. I just took a tour. It was a lot more expensive because it obviously was an upper-scale place. The staff was very nice. Everybody was very pleasant. They showed me a studio, and it was very similar to the other place."

"Crestavilla - a Kisco Signature Community was elegant. The way that it was built, it had all the bells and whistles in the main place where you would go and have dinner and that kind of thing. That was very, very nice. One thing I like is that they had a movie theater and that was nice to have. They have like three movies going on in a day, which is very, very nice. They had a rooftop. The place was beautiful, it was close to the ocean and everything, but they were right up against the slope. Upstairs, they had a lovely place to walk around. If you were a gardener, you could garden up there, and you could do crafts, too. The one thing I did not like is that there was no view except for the sky. I just thought it was a shame that they were up against the slope. So that was my negative. The rooms were smaller. The kitchen was nice and adequate. The gentleman who showed us around was very much a people person. He had only been there for three months, so he did not know everybody's name. I like the location. It was right off the main road. It had some patio areas and a pool. It had crown molding, and you could tell that they had put quality first when they built it, and it's not that old. They had valet parking and different floor plans. The staff who toured me was good. They were really organized and very clean, too. "

"My husband moved to MorningStar of Mission Viejo. The interior organization there, they communicate well with each other. The management style is excellent. They communicate well between each department, so it's a very soft touch, but they pay attention to the information about their clients. The facility is great. It's interesting. It's a small building. It's not one of the biggest, most extravagant buildings that I've seen, but the staff is great. The food is amazing. The food is excellent. They do a good job there. My husband is a little reserved. He's not quite interested in that part of things, but it looks like they have a lot going on. They have an outreach program where they're working with the Saddleback Emeritus programming, and they're introducing some classes at their facility through Emeritus."

"Ivy Park at Mission Viejo was the first community that I looked at. They don't have trackers for patients who wander. The memory care unit had very large rooms, more than what's common in memory care, but it seemed sort of dark and depressing. It was just after lunch, and so it might have been that more of the residents were doing their after-lunch siesta and just all seemed sort of quietly out of it, so I don't think that there was an activity scheduled at that time. I tried their food and I thought that it was quite good. The person who assisted me was very helpful. They have music in their outdoor courtyard that happens regularly. They have a private dining room for families, but it only seats eight, which is not nearly big enough for my family. They have a coffee bar. They have places where the residents could go and get snacks and lemon water or orange water depending on the flavor of the day. They have a craft room and a small library. Overall, I very much like the facility. With regard to food, there were lots of choices. I got two of my sisters with me and my dad, and my sisters also agreed that the food was quite good."

"I toured Belmont Village Aliso Viejo. I like that they had a pool. It was a large facility. I did an unscheduled tour, and they were happy to accommodate me, but it was not during mealtime. The apartments seem to be a reasonable size. They had a nice-sized theater there. They have 24 daily choices on their menu for dining, so a large selection of different things. They had a heated saltwater pool that was kept at 82 degrees. They made me want to go in their pool. They seemed to have plenty of parking. They have short stays like respite care, so that looked nice. Everything was clean. The staff was very friendly. Everyone spoke to me as I came through and said hello. It seemed like a very welcoming place."

"My father-in-law and mother-in-law were in Sunrise of Mission Viejo for about four years. The activities were wonderful. She was in memory care. It was excellent. We ate there many times, and the food was good. My father-in-law was in assisted living, he was in a studio with a kitchen, then he moved into memory care after my mother-in-law passed away, and he was in a shared one-bedroom. It was fine because no one was in there with him. They had musicians come from the outside. They had bingo, they had sing-alongs, they had games, and they had a pool table. It was nice. They had a bus service to take them on outings. The staff was great, we didn't live close, and the staff was great about helping us with doctor's appointments and keeping us informed of what was going on because we lived about four hours away. In furnishing the apartments, I wish we could use the previous tenants' furniture, so we didn't have to go out and buy all new."

"It is excellent. The food is very good, the only thing bad about it is the facility, it doesn't have central air and excellent activities. As far as exercise programs and all of that, remodelling of the main building, their living accommodations are not as good. We only saw the independent, and I think the independent kind of goes in with the assisted. The staff is outstanding. They have a good selection, but we didn't like what we chose. I think their food is probably very good, we didn't like our main course, but we liked everything else."

"My mom went to Park Terrace before moving to FL. It's such a great facility and location. + Small courtyard where they BBQ on occasions + Next to huge park, when my 3yr old & I visited my mom, we'd walk over to the park and have fun + Next to shopping center with great restaurants. If your loved one is wheel chair bound, it's walking distance but downhill. Coming back up might be a challenge. + I've visited a lot of assisted living facilities in CA and FL, this one by far has the nicest staff. Many Atria places I've visited have a "Walt Disney" nice staff, but Park Terrace has a "go home to mom's house" staff. Friendly, alert, but not extremely over-the-top annoying happy. + Has a chapel with services every week. "

"My parents are moving in. It is really pretty and got a lot of spaces outside. I am hoping they've got good staff. It seems nice and clean. The rooms are the nicest room I saw and the best that I have seen. They're very open and airy and have windows, and the rooms are really nice. The location is beautiful, it is on the coast. It is a really pretty location."

"This is a nice facility, and the helpers try to plan activities so the residents don't get bored. They have live entertainment, and guests are encouraged to sing along. They also have a billards room, something that my relative and I can still do together. The chef is really great, too, and is able to make customized meals. This is especially important because my relative is a diabetic and needs to be careful of what she eats. Overall, I am happy with her care. "
